I'm reckoning that Afobe, along with Charlie Austin's ridiculously priced transfer to Southampton, are going to be the steals of the season and yet why do both choose to pick lower positioned clubs within The Premiership when our strike force can't find the net? Why did CPFC not pick up the likes of Afobe & Austin on their radar? We're looking 14th place finish material in The Premiership now given our reliance upon a handful of key players e.g. Hennessey; Dann; Cabaye; Zaha and Bolassie.

I like the look of Charlie Austin, but he's gone to a club that can pay him far more right now than we were likely to be able to. Afobe, he has started well, but it will be interesting so see where he is in six months. I still think we really need an attacking central midfielder. That way we'd have options other than Zaha.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

Afobe would have put away that Chamakhh chance, that wilf chance against Villa/Chelsea, the numerous Campbell chances. But Parish wants 10m for his luxurious expenses. Wonder why we're one of the only proift making clubs in the prem - well played by him to be fair....

He may well turn out brilliant, but on Tuesday he scored from 5 yards with a powder puff header and missed a golden chance in the first half where the ball didn't even go out of play.

Of course it's all about opinions....but Afobe was one of the players I was hoping we would bid for in January. He did fluff a very good chance in the first half on Tuesday night, but he made up for that with the winner '' powder puff '' header or not - he was in the right place, at the right time. Another Bamford he ain't.

With our very worrying current form, some two points since Xmas in 7 games, this is suggesting that unless things improve very soon, we are likely to be drawn into the relegation battle. Such a shame after such a brilliant season to date. Every club suffers injuries and suspensions and I hope the return of Bolasie and Wickham can help to improve our abysmal form, as to finish 14th as others have said, begins to look slightly optimistic.

The same people that bemoan what a 'fortune' we spent on Wickham, would be happy for us to spend £12m on Afobe - very strange.

But to splash the cash as Bournemouth have done, may keep them in this division. Howe is proving to be a very good manager.
