To maintain 6th in the premier is a big ask with only Wickham up front our strength apart from that is good with cover for injuries so I think poor planning but dont make it worse blowing millions if they seem too good to be true they are!

I'd look at offloading Gayle, Campbell, Mutch and Friers. I'd end Bamford's loan, too. Priorities this window should be a striker (especially if we sell Gayle and Campbell) and a proper number 10. Don't know if we can stretch to Suarez and Pogba yet? Personally, a proper number 10 is more important than another striker, and I've been saying that for months. Any other positions, barring injuries, can wait for the summer. A number 10, as in, Puncheon and Chamakh? And Cabaye if needed?

Yeah, a number 10, as in the inconsistent and one dimensional Puncheon, the injury plagued Chamakh and the not-a-number-10 Cabaye.

I always thought the primary aim of a newspaper was to print NEWS - in that regard the article fails by a long way and tells people what they already know. They also quote Austin's price as 15m - that was in the summer but it is now 8m. Also why would JS go? We need three keepers and he is great to have as back up. given his heart is with us and he has a business in the area I doubt he is banging the door down for a move.

If a newspaper only printed news it would be very thin indeed so every newspaper from the Financial Times down to the Croydon Advertiser fill up the bulk of their pages with editorial and articles. If you're not interested in newspaper articles because you already know everything then don't read them but many are interested in media speculation about the club and it's players and in this particular case the article clearly states that it has been written by a Palace fan and not a member of their editorial team. What has been written may come about or it may not but it's still one man's opinion, just as most of the posts in HOL are so it's just as valid or otherwise as your own opinions which you have posted in response to the article

Definitely a palace fan, as like most of us can't agree on what we need. One minute he says Connor Wickham is one for the future and we need need someone who will score goals now, then he says he'd rather buy an unknown 22 French player for 15m than Charlie austin. Personally I don't think Austin will go anywhere in Jan, why would he when he can wait till the summer and get a big layout. Can't see Remy being released in Jan either, doubt they'll get rid of anyone until a new manager arrives. So if we are going to get someone it's likely to be a foreign player or lower league one - bit of a gamble, but one I think we need to take, as we are short of options up front.

I was watching Boro play the other day and I thought that their winger, Albert Adomah was excellent and very similar to Yala. With that player out for some time, perhaps now might be the time to try to get Adomah on loan. There was talk at Boro of perhaps loaning him out after he put in a transfer request in the summer. He's tricky, has an end product and, what's more he a London lad - lambeth born. His similarity to Yala goes on in that he used to play for Brstol City too, I think I'm right in writing.

A young up and coming left back who is willing to play back up to Souare. A strong centre back that's ready to be Dann's new partner when Delaney's legs can no longer play every game. A striker that can either play on his own up top or play with Wickham when fit. Not easy to find. Possibly another striker. We have enough Midfield / Winger options despite the injuries, all of which can do a good job even if they're not as good as the 1st choices. We're not in a position to go and splash the cash on a player as good as Bolasie just because Bolasie is injured for a couple of months. POSSIBLE OUTS:

Any 'potential' players we should buy in August, not now when their price will be even more inflated. We need a striker and a winger after the injury blows last weekend. QPR have Matt Phillips and Charlie Austin. Worth looking at them both but Austin is prone to injury so maybe not what we need. Rhodes would be interesting but not sure he'd fit into our system. The foreign suggestions look good on FIFA but frankly this means fcuk all. Could be hit or miss. On that basis I'd rather have a Rhodes or Austin but only down to my ignorance. The boy Demerei Gray at Birmingham looks good and is available at just 3.5m. He's getting lots of good write-ups currently.
