Wow, this is quite appropraite this is on here tonight. an hour or two ago I just come back from a trip to Colwyn Bay, where i've just had one of the most fantastic weekedns of my life with a girl I met three years ago on the internet but for the first time in real life on friday. I've done it twice before.. mainly because i find myself too shy to speak to a lot of girls in the pub without creating the "I'm a nice guy, will make a good friend" vibe. Had a farily serious relationship with the last one, but that only lasted a year because things got samey. This girl seems so different though, what more can you say bout a girl who loves nothing more than to go down the pub and watch the footy whenever on? She is a United fan, but it made it even more funny when City scored their third and she fell to her knees in the pub, hehe. Edited by Alden59 (17 Mar 2004 1:27am)

Like Elliott, I made a huge mistake meeting 2 girls for a drink in Eastbourne even though I didn't want to. This girl hassled me for weeks to meet up and I eventually gave in, although I was a bit suspiciuos when all the pictures she was leaving in my inbox were waist-up only. She also said she was 19 and a size 10, although when I met her (along with her annoying friend) she admitted that she was in fact 16, in both size and age.

Went Speed Dating in New York City. Got loads of e-mails, and telephone numbers from the women there. Thought I was Hugh Grant or sommat. Girlfriend at the time wasn't too impressed. She organised it, and only invited me so she had someone to be with. Still keep in contact with Sharry (what a weird name), who in 2002 was 22. She wants me to go back this summer. Well, if you insist m'darin'....!!

When I saw these two fat 16 yr olds wobbling up to my car I felt like a pervert (enter joke from Pikey) so we drove to a pub they knew near Beachy Head.
Should have driven them OFF Beachy Head mate.

I think it's a good thing that it's more populare these days. There's nothing like cards on the table and not being embarrassed. Like jseedy I was single for a while after a long term and found it a struggle to meet the right girls and of course the one's you fancy are already attached.... I am attached now but in the future if I ever had to I would. Only about five years ago this type of thing was only considered for people who were deemed to be desperate, but why should it be?

I'd like to try speed dating if I'm single again. It looks great fun. I don't get Silent Dating, is that aimed at shy people?

Speed dating is fun. But I've decided to stay single. Given up looking. Waste of my time AND money. And since becoming single, I've noticed I'm starting to become unfeasibly rich. I recommend it. Now I all I need is a room for money money, so I can swim in it, a la Scrooge McDuck...

Well, I think (correct me if I'm wrong), you either write or text the person you like rather than speak. The idea being that you can say things on paper that you would be nervous about saying to their face.
