So - after going out on loan several times whilst at Reading and finally establishing himself in the first team. He's now going to Chelsea to do the same thing where he'll be sent out on loan to Reading, come back and be sent out again and again and again.

Mind boggling.

this..

Just when I thought that I was out...........they pull me back in

silly boy.

its not even like palace are not going to pay him as much nowadays.

probable first team football sooner rather than later, or same contract and sit on the bench 90% of the time and go out on loan.

silly, silly decision.

Obviously he doesn't think he is ready for a Top 4 team yet!

Urgh, can't really blame him but I hate Chelsea. They buy all the players from under the noses of all non-top 4 clubs then loan them out all over Europe and the Championship.

Just look at Moses, Piazon, Salah etc.

Like I say you can't really blame the player, he'll get the big money wages and also the first team football whilst out on loan.

Chelsea must have realised that players want to play as well as earn big money so to stop being rejected in favour of clubs that will play them, they turn the loan system into their own money making scheme.

This loophole really should be shutdown.

I agree. The like of Chelski, Moan U etc can afford to pay more than the smaller teams and just vacuum up anyone that has shown any remote talent. Then just loan them out for the rest of their careers. I remember a stat that showed Chelski had something like 70 players out on loan.

I think it should be capped at 25 - same as the playing squad so that it stops the rich clubs choking off the supply of players to the smaller clubs. That's be good for the game and make the Premiership more competitive....

Official figure is 33 on loan and counting! I agree there should be a cap.

its forever happened since sky took over.

The difference between championship and prem is immense. Squad players in prem wouldve other have been first teamers in championship for longer periods and the gap wouldve been smaller.

Though saying that, I honestly feel the premiership is at its weakests atm....there arent alot of players I feel now in the premierips that are as good as the ones in years gone by. No one in the prem can be spoken of in beckhams class, or gazza's, klinnsman, Kanchelskis, Cantona, Shearer, the list is endless, Maybe Hazard stands out or Aguero or silva, but generally even they dont impress me as much as players in the top league ten years back.

Not many teams who come up now seem to get thrashed every week either....

People have been telling me that Hector is a boyhood Chelsea fan so not too surprising he jumped at the opportunity to sign for them, even if he doesn't play, it probably still means a lot to him.

Honestly when we were loaning him out to all clubs under the Sun, it seemed like he would never play for us but suddenly one solid loan spell at Aberdeen and he became arguably our strongest defender.

Would take a massive improvement of his current ability to be more than just a squad player at Chelsea though.

The only way he would become of a level to play regularly for Chelsea is if he was to play in the prem regularly. He could of got that with us. Shame that players are willing to accept that kind of role but I suppose he isn't the youngest defender and money helps

By choosing Chelsea he may just as well jumped into the black hole of Calcutta because no one will be seeing him again

How much money is he making though? Would you say no to getting paid sitting on a bench watching football?

If he watched the Chelsea Palace game last weekend he could have concluded that he had a better chance of breaking into Chelsea's defence than ours

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Saw Michael Hector play for Cheltenham a couple of years ago when Mark Yates was the manager. He caught the eye with his reading of the game, his coming out of defence with the ball and his passing. Was quick, mobile and strong. Looked a good player and a fine prospect.
