I for one think this could be a great signing.

Depending on the price, this could be a ok signing. Pardews record with getting the best out of strikers is pretty decent. I reckon he's been tracking Wickhams progress for some time. That being said he is not worth anywhere near what Sunderland paid for him. Edited by Mad4palace (30 Jul 2015 6.52pm)

He may not be as good now as Austin, but he has the potential. We're not having to buy proven players to stave off relegation this time around; we can buy for the future. Wickham is 6ft 3", good in the air and fast. So he's got all the physical attributes you want, he's only 22 and we've got Murray to tutor him. I don't think there's any cause to worry.

Credit to both clubs for keeping this well of the radar! Was not sure at first about this one but the more I think about it the more I see this being a really good signing. If the lad can find some consistency and confidence it could turn out to be money very well spent.

Wow, this really came out of nowhere. Big and powerful, and still only 22. I reckon we could see his potential fulfilled under Murray's tutelage. Would be very happy with this and we'd have a really well-rounded strike force for next season.

The only striker I'd think of selling would be Campbell. How much are we going to get for Murray at his age? Not enough to justify getting rid of our best all-round striker.

I still can't help but think our priority should be a new CB, especially with the addition of Bamford.
Hope so. This has come as a bit of a surprise to the majority, fingers crossed for another!
