This Life. Still looks great and stands the test of time. Hated every character in it but that's what made it so watchable and it had the greatest ending of any series.

This reminds me how much I loved Teachers. It was one of those comedy series that was rarely (possibly never) laugh out loud funny, but I ended up loving the characters and not really caring whether anything funny happened or not.

And that also leads me to feel embarrassed that Walking Dead isn't on my list. Provided that doesn't get strung out too much longer without any decent direction, that should be on my list.

Prison Break s1 is stupid but great fun. Don't watch any more of it.

Peaky Blinders is also a terrific show.

I would add dexter to the list, tails off a bit at the end, but still great TV.

They all tail off at the end...

Other than Breaking Bad - hence it topping my list. The timing of everything just worked, finished when it needed to. I have to say I think season 4 was the best, though.

Surprised your the only other one to mention it! Makes the rest of the british gangster programs/films look like playground antics and due to it being set in 1919, just seems much more realistic. Think it's brilliant

If you had to pick a top 5 - with a month off work, I need some inspiration!

Mine are as follows -

1. Breaking bad - I wanted to not like it because of all the fuss, but it more than lived upto the hype. Doubt it could ever be beaten.

2. Peaky Blinders - Best thing out there at the moment. Favourite UK series.

3. True Detective (season 1) - Second season is complete load of pony so far but its not a continuous series (as in the first has no links to the second). First season was amazing, Matthew Mcconaughey masterclass.

4. Suits - Not as dark and serious as the others but I challenge any straight man to not wanna be Harvey Spector.

5. Homeland - Seemed to lose its way from the 3rd season, but first couple were brilliant.

The ones I haven't watched that I've been told I NEED to are - Lost, 24, Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead. House of Cards.

Ive also tried Game of Thrones, The Wire and Prison Break but failed to really get into any of them!

Possibly the most overrated show in TV history - just off to get my tin hat..
