In my memory he scored quite frequently for the reserves but maybe I didn’t see them very often and it was coincidental.

Tried hard but not up to standard and those were the days of Per Bartram, Jimmy Scott and Willie Wallace among others so he had lots of competition at that level.

Sorry to be pernickety, but Bartram didn't provide much competition. He made just twelve appearances (but did score three goals).

Wasn’t he signed from Morton at the same time as Borge Thorup? The two of them didn’t play much, Thorup especially, but seemed quite exotic at the time.

Per Bartram and Borge Thorup were both signed from Morton but I don't believe it was a dual-signing.
From memory, they didn't make many appearances for our club.

Your memory is better than mine! I do remember Bartram scoring against Arsenal - shame about their five goal reply.

Borge was signed as we gained promotion. Per just after.the start of 69-70 season. Borge just made one sub appearance at Tottenham Hotspur.

Everyone's memory is better than mine. I was a Selhurst regular at about that time but can't remember anything like as much details as most of you who have posted in this thread

Alan Pinkney and Mike Edwards worth both teachers at Tulse Hill School in the late 60's early 70's

Edwards was the opening batsman for Surrey at the time. Taught English

Both decent teachers

I am enjoying being back at Selhurst and having a beer with my mates just like we have done for the past 40 years. Through Thick and thin we stick with our club. Not chairman, players or managers, OUR CLUB!

You couldn't be more right about Thorup: he played once!

Tony Taylor also came from Morton about that time, and played for us for several seasons.
