Because it's just a rumour. I could make one up now. Steve Bruce has an elephants trunk growing out of his arse. The club and Dann don't have to say anything.

My mum and sister live a few miles from Solihull. My brother in law knows Lee Hendrie quite well and apparently he's a proper lad pissed. The thing about Hendrie and Bruce's daughter is true, hence the black eye incident. The elephant's trunk is also true and accounts in part for the Jovan Kirowski transfer to Brum... Allegedly a substantial signing on fee was little more than a confidentiality bribe - evidently JK had dirt. Truth leaked a few years later even though Bruce denies.

My sister's milkman has a friend who can definitely confirm all of that.

I don't doubt we might well be interested. He's a very talented centre back who would add pace and a commanding presence to the team. But it wouldn't matter because Swansea wouldn't sell him; and even if they would, I doubt he'd want to leave and come to us.

It's hard to imagine why he would come to us but the rumour persists. You can't help but wonder. I can think of lots of reasons. 1. Our Welsh connection: Joniesta, Ledley, Hennessey. Maybe they've done a selling job. 2. London (isn't Swansea). 3. Maybe he feels we now have the potential to go further than Swansea. 4. He's 30. This is probably his chance to cash in on one last big move. 5. Wouldn't you be tempted by playing alongside Scott Dann and behind Cabaye and Jedi? There are worse prospects. 6. I imagine most players who aren't top four quality wouldn't mind playing behind our supporters and positive atmosphere they generate. 7. Swansea are ahead of us now, but our ceiling is much higher than theirs.

1. Our Welsh connection: Joniesta, Ledley, Hennessey. Maybe they've done a selling job. Swansea have a pretty big connection to Wales no? 2. London (isn't Swansea). He's Welsh, I doubt he has much against Wales. But, yes, London may be attractive as a 'new' lifestyle. 3. Maybe he feels we now have the potential to go further than Swansea. Perhaps. But I doubt it. He's captain there too, remember 4. He's 30. This is probably his chance to cash in on one last big move. Would we really offer him more than Swansea? Maybe this whole connection is simply his agent pioneering for a contract increase? 5. Wouldn't you be tempted by playing alongside Scott Dann and behind Cabaye and Jedi? There are worse prospects. Our squad is not better on paper than Swansea's. 6. I imagine most players who aren't top four quality wouldn't mind playing behind our supporters and positive atmosphere they generate. That's true. But as the captain of a club he's spent his career at, I doubt Selhurst will be more 'special'. 7. Swansea are ahead of us now, but our ceiling is much higher than theirs. Err... Ok. Suppose this is implying we have more potential than Swansea due to our location? That's agreeable. It's unlikely he'd want to move, but it's not impossible. (Quoted from sydtheeagle). If money and playing time are important, he will come. if his mrs says we are staying in the Gower then he isn't. moreover, there is the small fact of Swansea telling us to do one.
