You can't play a friendly against your rivals. In a friendly it's more about trying out players and formations than winning. if you lose, so what? Against brighton you have to go and win. You want bodies on the line against them, which is a bit counter-productive in pre-season

You can't really just start a rivalry with someone without good reason. We all know why Brighton are our rivals and the feeling of beating them is always pretty dam good, and the feeling of losing to them (which I can't say is a familiar one) is awful.

Brighton are our rivals and always will be.
Millwall and The Clowns adds a little spice to the game but i don't class them as rivals.
Anyone who was going to games in the 70's and 80's will remember the difference between games against The Weed than anyone else, It was normal for it to kick of all over the place against them.

Getting promoted to the Premier League does bring along a few tourists that naff all about Palace and where we have come from. Brighton are our only rivals.

As for West Ham being Millwall's i think they have moved on to Chelsea and Spurs as their rivals as its embarrassing having a little club like yours. I mean a club that let the Clowns come to your ground and take the piss all day.
