Lads...... the OP gave helpful information about parking and somewhere to eat and drink until one of us insulted his club and home town.

Sometimes our fans are an embarrassment to our club.

Was clearly looking for a rise. He got one, probably because I can't believe it's still only Thursday and it's still only 15th January. You can't come on someone else's forum and call their away support sh*t for not taking massive numbers to what is, essentially, a sh*thole (have you ever been to Burnley?) on a cold day in January, and not expect to be shot down.

He said "poor" not sh*t..... you were the only one using insulting language.

Up till you got aggressive and insulted his town and team things were fine.

Would you call over a thousand people going to Burnley on a freezing January afternoon poor support?

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

His first post directed us to parking and a bar that was away friendly.

That was a wind up was it?

It only got ugly when Burnley and Burnley FC were insulted.

I'm not winding anybody up, and wish CP well for the future (apart from Saturday!).

And those who do come up will be given a warm Lancashire welcome at the Cricket Club - where you can park for only £6.00 - and get a pint for under £3.00 - and yes get pie, chips, peas and gravy (as well as burgers/hot dogs etc.) - all cooked in the club.

Not unusual for a boozer situated at the away end to want to attract away support. Sound business sense, and nice to have a welcoming boozer as an away fan.

Though I still prefer lower league stuff where you're more inclined to be accepted in any boozer, horribly outnumbered by local fans, and can have a good laugh and some banter with the locals, as well as chatting about respective teams' strengths and weaknesses. I've lost many a Saturday afternoon like that!

For the record, I've had a drink at the cricket club before and it's great.

Been there once before and really enjoyed it and the Burnley fans that I have met have been great (have a drink with them , talk football etc.). I didn't think the town was as bad as everyone makes out. Have never been to Blackburn yet but after reading the 'Burnley makes Blackburn look like St Tropez' comment I am quite looking forward to whenever my first visit there will be

Not as such no. But on match days, the Cricket Club is the "official away fans pub". If the visiting team bring 2,000 plus the CC is 99% away fans and jam packed. If the visiting club bring say 1,000 (as you might) - then its (roughly) 80 - 20 in favour of the away fans (as a few Burnley fans venture in if they know they can get a pint without queing for 20 mins). hope that answers your question.

Not sure how many we've sold but can't see us having much more than 1,000 up there

Why is CP away support so poor? I was expecting at lest 1.500 - maybe 2,000 at TM on Saturday.

We'll sound like 4,000. I've done Burnley away and it doesn't help that it's

1) An arse to get to
2) A s*** ground
3) A pretty sh*t place (sorry)
4) It's cold, it's January and everyone's skint.

When you've won plaudits for how your support is the best in the land, maybe you can come here asking us why we're so poor. Not before. Thanks.

Thatsa a bit harsh!!

1) you can get a train from Euston to Preston or Manchester, then a direct train to Burnley now. So whats the problem?
2) the ground is average I grant you, but we give away fans 4,100 tickets - more than some of the big London clubs.
3)again a bit harsh, but then again so is post-riot Croydon. Plus we give away fans their own pub and car-park at the Cricket Club.
4) why would everybody be skint? Your on twice what we earn anyway.

PS, Your home support is great, maybe the best in the Premier. But your poor away support drags you back down to (almost) QPR level. Thats a shame.

We will have about 1,500 up there it doesn't help this will be our 4th away game n the last 5 after and during xmas it's not the easiest ground to get too and Burnley makes Blackburn look like Las Vegas .
We are not a big club at all.

I think you were worrying about the wrong things bruv. 1700 travelling supporters, we couldn't hear the Burnley library and, most importantly Dick, or whatever his name is, can't defend a two goal lead. Oh, and I don't share the same love for away supporters that a few on here do; I don't post on other teams sites and reserve the right to take the piss out of those that do

Bexley Dave

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!
