Ouch I was at a lot of those games only two aways tho
that's one hell of a bogey team Al!

I remember one total wash out at selhurst, evening game.
the crowd must've been about 5K.only.
we absolutely slaughtered them.
on a different night it would've been 5-0.
scrambled off line, hit post, crazy missed chances.
literally 1 f***ing shot by them & it went in.
laugh! I nearly cried.

Must have been 1985 then!!

We are Palace from Selhurst.

I recall the days when you simply could not go for a 'Bowel Movement' in the toilets down the slope at the back of the Holmesdale terrace as all the toilet rolls had been taken by supporters to throw on to the pitch !

That was long climb down the stairs! didn't they stink those and the others up the top as you came in from Park road, Am not sure now but there was a bit of the old Holmesdale terrace near where the lav block used to be? behind to the right of the burger van as you go in thro E3.

Works out at P16 W2 D6 L8 F15 A23 against Shrewsbury in the 80's.Losing against them in 89 probably cost us going straight up and then Blackburn would never have happened

Grimsby in the 80's was another one - rarely beat them at home and I remember one trip up there were Jimbo (or might have been Aylott) got sent off after about 10 minutes and we got murdered 4-1 but it could have been 20 - were about 3 down and ten men in the first 20 minutes

That's mad about Shrewsbury, never knew (too young then).

I always hated Sc***horpe during our Championship time, always seemed to beat us and they were muck generally.

That's how it felt at least, I'm gonna go look up our results against them unless anyone else knows already ?

Edit: Actually just looked it up, was bad at times but not the near whitewash that those Shrewsbury ones were, ouch.

3/11/07: Scun 0-0 CP
12/4/08: CP 2-0 Scun
12/9/09: CP 0-4 Scun
6/2/10: Scun 1-2 CP
28/8/10: Scun 3-0 CP
16/4/11: CP 1-2 Scun

Bad enough though, including 2 horrid hammerings 12/9/09 and 28/8/10.

Remember standing behind the goal in the Holmesdale for the September 1982 game against Shrewsbury listed above. There was plenty of room.

Kevin Mabbutt scored a header and Steve Ogrizovic was in goal for the Shrews. Andy McCulloch was also playing.

Around the same period I went to a pre-season friendly at Plough Lane against Wimbledon. David Giles was getting some proper stick off the gaggle of fans behind the goal. A couple of minutes from the end he scored. His celebration involved a v sign and telling us all to f*** off.

Just looked it up and he isn't wrong....

Sitting in a cramped plastic seat remembering when there were bloody terraces and we had 'the flatterer,' on the pitch at half time!

I assume your "Plastic Seat" was under a cover. I recall the uncovered terraces where one got drenched and pushed over or rammed against a barrier as hordes surged downwards. And those using the terraces as a urinal.

Too right! In the terracing front of the Arfur as close to the middle as I could get.

Used to occasionally divert to behind the goals. Nothing like not feeling your toes after 20 mins!
