She was good mates with Pinochet as well. He was a top chap..

Misunderstood. A fine leader.

Invented parachuteless ocean base jumping.

A fun guy.

Now, credit where credit is due, the honour of inventing the helicopter drop goes to the Argentine Military Junta of the seventies, not Pinochet.

I believe that the US were accused of doing something similar in Vietnam. Except into Jungle.

Was Thatcher a friend of Saville? Yes or no?
You Stirling my friend, started going off on one, I've merely fanned the flames... I'll stop now.

Quite a lot of people seem to have been friends with Jimmy Savile, and would be open to similar accusations. Hell, a lot of people seemed to know about his abuse, and did f**k all about it. Lots of people probably know sex offenders, without knowing they're sex offenders - and background and security checks only go so far.

I'm more interested in Peter Morrison and Thatcher, as there are direct quotes reported from the Right and Left media that she might have been aware of his activities.

And it might not be too much to add that, in a Cabinet renowned for it's subservience to MT, Leon Brittan's "initiative" in 'loosing' certain files might be questioned. That lot didn't fart unless she gave them permission.

Shock, horror - politician knew someone in the public eye who was then unmasked as a criminal. Tony Blair was good mates with Cliff Richard - staying at his home in the Caribbean a number of times. If any allegations against him are proved to be correct you could do your 'nudge nudge wink wink' thing about him? Rolf Harris painted the queen - and they got on well. Uh oh.

The Thatcher one could say

Look Maggie you're a bit older than I prefer but if you turn round I can imagine you're younger

Thatcher saying 'the lady is not for turning'.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
