TP has said the whole infrastructure at the club needs bringing up to spec, from scouting, training facilities, ground, to the tea lady, so I'd expect a large chunk of that cash to go on infrastructure improvements. I guess that ratio is what TP and SP have to discuss.

Maybe they'll use the money to buy a decent hand dryer for the men's bogs in block j.

Don't worry mate I have just signed a contract with CPFC to supply them next season with fresh banana leaves which will be use instead of toilet paper and hand dryers. You will be all right mate as long as you do not have piles!.

Hope the tea lady is well paid for her efforts because she is the most important element in The Club!.

I'm never quite sure how this works. Is that £75 million on top of the reported 120 million that we got last year or did that £120 million promotion include £60 million if we went down, so in theory for staying up we've gained an extra £15 million. All very confusing.

No, 120m is the what it is worth to win the play offs, its not actually what you get paid. The 120m also presumes relegation (as it includes the parachute payments). Obviously we won't get parachute payments this season

We can afford premiership players, what we might not be able to afford is paying their wages over the five to eight years, at 50k a week plus they might be demanding.

Forget the 120 million figure, just ignore it. That was the estimated revenue from the league (circa 60m for one season) PLUS 60 million parachute payments over four years were we to be relegated - we were not relegated so we get circa 75 million, due in part to finishing 11th.

Next year we will be looking at around 63 million plus 1.2m for every place we go up in the table. We finish bottom we get 1.2m extra, we finish in the same place as this year we get 12m extra.

Should we get relegated next year, the year after or whenever we get the 60m over a four year period.

I hope that is clearer.

Excellent Summary James.
9/10 Well Done.
No more questions on this then lads.

Without intentionally rubbing it in, I made the point to my Watford-supporting mate that we chose a good season to go up.

Makes you realise how much harder it is for promoted sides to compete. Ignoring external investment, both clubs basically started on the same footing 12 months ago, yet we're now £75m richer.

We have, however, proved that you don't need massive player investment to succeed, but if spent properly it'll certainly help.

Best chance we've ever had to kick on?

This is the first time I can remember (and I'm 49) that we have moved up into the big money league without having debt and/or Ron Noades sucking money away from the club. This should be the kick off point for the club to become a perennial top-half team, a la Everton and Tottenham, with the occasional challenge for the top 4.

In the past, we have lost local fan support to the big name clubs. But going forward, as a Premiership side, we should reclaim some of those fans and pick up a few undecideds along the way. Given the performance of the fans - and the very public acknowledgement of that from all corners - who wouldn't be proud to say "I support my local team....Crystal Palace!"?

We should dominate south London and the London suburbs all the way to the south coast. That's a massive catchment area. I trust the club management (also, the first time I can remember in my 49 years) to handle this well - improving and expanding the infrastructure while not neglecting the product on the field. Also, probably the first time that we've had the resources to do both.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Quote Y Ddraig Goch at 07 May 2014 2.20pm

just saw this on the Beeb

Whoever finishes bottom of the Premier League on Sunday will still earn more TV money than last season's champions Manchester United.

NBC paid over $2 billion to the rights to broadcast the Premier league for the next 5 years. They've done a fantastic job of it too - 4 or 5 games live on TV per weekend and every single game on the entire schedule live either on TV or for streaming from their website. It has been a joy.

I feel a little sorry for them now, though. They made the commitment to show all 10 games on "Championship Sunday" live on their network. Two weeks ago, that was looking like a genius decision with so much going on at both ends of the table. Now, if Sunderland win tonight, only 2 games will have any consequence and, truthfully, if City win tonight, it's all over.

Still, the Premier League never interferes with NBC's prime time schedules nor any other sports and matches are over in less than 2 hours, not the 3+ hours for all US sports so it's a really good fit for a broadcaster with 30+ channels at its disposal.

Yeah, sorry Dorris. You're being replaced by a 25 year old super model that wears ridiculously short skirts and keeps bending down to pick stuff up!
