Yes, if that chest-down and finish had been witnessed at the 'Theatre of Dreams' involving Rooney et al the press would have had England winning the World Cup by now. A Brilliant bit of skill by our two super reserves. Just think how many games Punchy has had to get his 7 goals, then along comes Gayle who nabs four in a handful of games. And the chest-down, directly from a long clearance, oh no. that's just TP and his big, clumsy long ball game. If that had been Gerrard's long ball, we would have heard the word perceptive, Carrol's knock-down would have been a reminder to Woy and Gayle's finish Greaviesk. Come on Palace, you're tearing up the old brainwashing manual.

Not to mention that Liverpool played far more long balls than we did last night!

Muzza's reaction when Gayle force scored. he knew it was a goal before it hit the net. #quality.

Terrific to have them both out there doing their bit. One of the papers said Pulis brought them on to liven up the game ...did it!!!!

I hope they both get another opportunity at the weekend. Ince too!

Training ground move. Two Palace players 'offensively mark' one defender. A ball forwarded to the first man. Does the defender mark the last attacker? Can't. Has to go for the man with the ball and leave the other attacker.... but too late, the chest down has taken him out and left the other attacker with a tap in. VERY clever.

Watching the replay of it, that assist just looks better and better, its a perfect through ball/knock down for Gayle to run on to.

Yeah their defence was poor, and has been poor all season, but they had defenders on the bench. Any team that cannot hold down a 3-0 lead in a vital game, with 10 minutes left on the clock isn't good enough.

Could you imagine Palace this season not being able to hold on for 10 minutes or so, at 3-0 up. We've been doing it for 30 minutes at 1-0 up. Brendon Rodgers manager of the season, more like bottler of the season.

Tony is obviously manager of the season!!!!.Rogers blew it but after all the goals they have conceded they could hardly expect to become Title Holders of The Premiership. Man City is a very much better team and the liverpudlians will have to settle for runners up.So much for Lpool deciding the league title at Selhurst.

The league title was decided at Selhurst - where Manc won and Lpool didn't

It was absolutely class-plus the movement created the hole for Dwight to run into. I've been tough on Muzza recently but that was a moment of brilliance.

I think they must have been all working a lot on chesting the ball in training. I've noticed a lot them are getting better at it.

Agree with so much on this thread. Absolutely world class bit of play by Murray, barely mentioned by the media who as many have said, would be falling over themselves to heap praise if it had been done by a Rooney or a Suarez.

Yup me too, and watching the BBC coverage yesterday and back on sky today, 99% of the conversation was about how Liverpool chucked it away and less than 1% on how we took the game by the scruff of the neck and bloody well got something out of it. Against all the odds AGAIN.

How many times have we been written off the last few years? How many times have we come back fighting and shoved it down their throats?

Too many to mention, but we don't f*cking give up. We keep going until the end. We are Palace and we're still here, whether the rest of the footballing world likes it or not.
