For me, the most memorable comeback was at Wrexham in the early to mid 70's.

It was very near the last game of the season and we needed a 2 goal advantage to clinch promotion.

We were 0-2 up with about 15 minutes left. And then they scored. 1-2. Heartbreaking. And then they scored another. The end of our campaign.

It was all over. 5 minutes was never enough to claw back a 2 goal advantage.

But astonishingly (don't know why because we are talking Palace here) that's exactly what they did.

Final whistle, 2 goal advantage, we're up.

And until Monday that was the most sensational comeback. Now it's just the runner-up.

That was an incredible night. We scored 2 goals in the last 90 seconds (not 5 Mins) in that game. We HAD to win by 2 goals but we still had to rely on another result on the following weekend. Mansfield Town (I think) had to win or draw in order for us to go up. Which they duly did.

In 1969 when clinching promotion to the top division for the first time we were 0-2 down to a Fulham side which included Johnny Byrne. We eventually won the game 3-2, and then John Jackson did his memorable striptease on the walkway of the main stand.

I have posted this same question on the Nostalgia section.

I have followed Palace since 1964 and I am fairly certain we have never recovered from a 0-3 deficit.

Johnny Byrne AND Johnny Haynes. Byrne joined Fulham when he left us in 1968.

After our game at Wrexham on the Tuesday night, on the following Saturday Wrexham were at home to Mansfield who were already promoted. Due to our last minute heroics (Rash the Smash & Jeff Bourne) Wrexham had to win to go up. Mansfield won 1-0. I have no idea why that game was played on a Saturday after the rest of the league had finished.

I can remember us being 3-0 up v Stockport about 12-15 years ago and drawing 3-3 but the other way round, no never and I go back to the mid 60's

and can you remember who scored one (or more) of the Stockport goals?

Moore 2, Cooper 1 - I had to look it up though.

More pertinent, a certain Aaron Wilbraham came on as sub for Stockport in the 87th minute. Little did we know that we were seeing a cameo appearance by a future Palace cult hero

The last time was apparently January 9th 1926 away at Northampton in a FA Cup 3rd round tie.

I might be wrong but I think that Carlo Nash was at Stockport at that time.He went to Stockport from us and I think was signed by Gary Megson.

I really thought that Shefki Kuqi got one of them. Must have been another Stockport game.
