If he really talked of scoring ten tonight, he will surely hope it was taken as a joke.

Very silly thing to say about one of the best teams in the Premier League (on recent form).

To be fair to Brenda, Tone mocked his inclusion for MOTY for practically saying that a monkey in a shell suit could spend mega bucks and be chasing a title. It's football. This is what happens.

Yes look what happened when Chelsea came to Selhurst!.This is football and its never done and dusted until the ref's final whistle or The Fat Lady Sings. If dear old Harry Webb is officiating tonight I hope The Fat Lady Sings loud and clear just after halftime.

Is it me or is Brendan Rodgers a selfrighteous, smug, holier than thou gob s***e?
After the Chelsea loss he said 'this should prepare us for the long ball, long throw defensive football we'll face at Palace', and in todays paper it's how his team are going to win big in their last two games and overhaul city's superior goal difference.
Now I know the press distort things but the first comment was an interview on Sky after they lost to Chelsea. This guy is a total asshole with absolutely no respect, all TP needs to do is use brenda's quotes as the team talk. I hope we derail their title bid so much. Has he even see us play since TP took over? It doesn't bloody well sound like it!

Yes..... he was at the Everton game.

Clearly he is getting his excuses in first!

If we play as well as we did against Everton he'll have every right to be worried, but not from long balls or long throws!

These are his comments on the BBC;

"We know Crystal Palace are a very strong team. They're well organised and will be super compact in the game - there won't be a lot of spaces. Tony Pulis has done an outstanding job. Having come up with a team from the Championship I know first hand how difficult the job is. I watched them recently at Everton and they defended really well and have players on the counter-attack who can punish you. They have a real spirit amongst them, and keeping them in the league is a great effort. He has really galvanised the team."

Not exactly disrespectful.

[Link]

And this is what he said while spitting his dummy after being turned over by Chelsea:

“This game will prepare us for Crystal Palace,

“We will have to deal with long balls forward and we will have to deal with long throw-ins.

That, to me, is ignorant and disrespectful and shows he knows nothing about the way we play under Pulis. He's taking a tired stereotype and using it to characterise a style of play we don't use.

Add to that his comments about putting 10 past us and Newcastle and I think he's done TP's team talk for him. Stick that up on the dressing room wall and our boys will hopefully go out and put a massive spanner in the scousers' title hopes.

I don't think it's worth getting particularly upset about if I'm honest Seth. If Pulis can use it as motivation to beat them then that's wonderful but ultimately I don't believe anybody in this league sees us as whipping boys or lacks respect over what has been accomplished anymore.

I'm not upset. It's all part of the pre-match build-up and I'm glad something's happened to make me care a bit more about the game. I was going into it without being that bothered but I'd much rather there was some tension and edge around the match and this has provided it for me.

Bring it on!

I agree with the OP. BR's comments after the Chelsea game were ignorant and disrespectful. Now this stuff about scoring 8 past us. What a c*nt.

I actually wanted Liverpool to win the league over City or Chelsea but now I'll be very happy if we get anything from the game tonight and Rodgers can disappear up his own ars*hole.[/

I'll never forget the day that Danny Butterfield scored that hattrick.
And when Ambrose scored that worldy at Old Trafford.

Very silly thing to say about one of the best teams in the Premier League (on recent form).

Due to the match being moved I couldn't go & am watching in a bar full of scousers - and they're on about thrashing the "cockney cnuts" at LEAST 10 nil
