Listened to the interview and really impressed by SP's knowledge of football generally. The man's clearly top drawer.

However, the point about Puncheon being his player of the year on the basis of his winning goals is interesting.

My feeling is the stats showing how many saves Jules has made and how many clean sheets he's kept considering how much pressure we've been under through lack of possession are far more impressive.

IMO this requires concentration and skill of the highest order. We've all seen the critical saves and big claims late in the game when we're chewing our fingers off.

The blokes a legend

I wonder if we will ever see another player at The Palace who will be as dedicated and so much in love with our Club as Jules is. I suppose in my seventy years of supporting The Palace we have had such players but as my mind is now in a state of decline I cannot readily identify them.

Certain players move on for a variety of reasons, but many return to show there affection for CPFC once they can. Off the top of my head I'm thinking of the likes of Eddie McGoldrick, Geoff Thomas, Mark Bright who love this club just as much as you and me. But you are right, in terms of playing staff, I can't remember a Palace player who has shown such affection for us whilst actually playing for us. It's a rare thing anywhere in todays game.

And let's not forget Steve Kember who played and managed us in very difficult circumstances - Stockport away being a good example. He also coached and scouted for us. He was one of our greatest players and those that remember him playing would find it difficult not putting him in an all time 11?
