No not at fault.
Toure played a blinder.
Thats what these 'stars' are meant to do.
A pin point cross for the first, and he started and finished the second.
You just have to applaud that.

Totally agree

No, Dzeko was always going to win that ball, he's 15 to 17 cms taller than both Mariappa, and Dann.

Scott Dann is taller than Dzeko.

I was in goal playing with my nine year old lad down the park at the weekend so feel qualified to answer:

1)Yaya played a millimetre perfect pass/cross and no goalkeeper in the world could have done anything about it nor the ball ending up in the back of the net.

2)Hennessy is not as good as Jules so shouldn't be given the No.1 spot until he is or if Jules loses form.

Agree 100%. The mistake was giving Toure so much time on the ball on the edge of the box.

Sorry to say, but I think he knows he was at fault for the first goal. If his weak kick out which lead to the first goal had been executed better it wouldn't have resulted in the pass and header.

Apart from that he didn't put a foot wrong!!!!

and if he'd worn blue boots, he'd have been faster out of the changing room. What codswallop.

In my humble opinion as a Goal Keeping coach to Juniors:
a) Not at fault in my opinion. He was standing in the correct place to react to either a shot or cross. Scorer jumped up between two defenders (who could have intercepted ball or blocked his path to the ball)from an awesome pinpoint cross.
b) Striker headed the ball down and hard (like they're taught to) GK had no chance.

How do we stop these type of goals?
a) Mark the player attempting to pass the ball tighter (close his space to reduce his options).
b) The defenders on the striker need to get up in the air at the right time to deflect the ball or at least prevent the ball from reaching their striker.

It was a superb cross and quality header - we've perhaps got to accept sometimes the quality that we are up against.

I really don't think that Dzeko is that much taller than Dann.

I thought Dann is 6'5? Dzeko is no Crouch! Either way, the quality of the ball is what made the goal. A ball over the top like that puts defender and keeper in no-man's land and generally results in a goal.

That head by Dzeco was hard to stop.

I've played in goal and flashing headers like that close to your feet are a bugger to keep out as you don't know whether to go with your hands or feet.

He had no chance with YaYa's goal either.

Absolutely no chance with either goal, had Toure not been playing the result could have been 0-0.

Scott Dann is taller than Dzeko.

He might have been 10 years ago, but no longer, he's quite a bit shorter.

Agreed. Jedi gave YaYa far too much space and should've closed him down quicker.

He was awesome yesterday though.

somebody May have Started thinking about the world cup. standing off yaya is not a good idea

nope, Jedi was his usual bulldozer self yesterday, just that Toure was bigger and more driven. An excellent perormance from Toure showing just how big the gulf between their team and ours is/was.
