He's been out for 10 months. He's hardly had a single chance in the few games he's been back. The only chance he's had, he's taken at Swansea. Give him a pre-season and he'll be firing for us next season.

Thommo, he had 20 minutes at the end of a match whilst he's still not 100% and we weren't providing any real service to him except a pumped up the middle ball every now and again. Do you really think that if Murray had got the kind of service he had last season and was 100% fit he wouldn't be scoring given that we know his game is not based on pace and given that we all know he has the ability to find the goal? I think this is a fail thread based on a real lack of understanding of the injury he had and of football in general. On top of that why make a 'ner ner' thread on a palace hero when we've just won our third game in a row? Silly boy.
So I ask you again where and how does he fit into your team ? Just in case you don't answer from what you have written I feel you think he should be our number 9 next season and start in every game if fit ? If not then please explain how he fits.. Come on wise boy lets have a grown up debate without your screaming kicking and crying, it's good to talk. I think once he's fit then he should be given an opportunity from the beginning of next season yes. I think you writing him off as not being anywhere near good enough to play in the premiership is ridiculous when you've not seen him play enough in the premiership to know one way or another. Trying to claim vindication on some of the negative opinions you've spurted about Murray in the past based on him scoring once in what's only about 5 sub (or subbed) appearances is naive and crass at best and belligerent at worst. Out of interest, prior to the start of our promotion winning campaign were you one of the people calling Murray crap and demanding a 30 goal a season striker? I might not eloquent in the way I voice my opinion (if it helps I don't think you are either) but I sure as hell aren't prepared to write off the player who got us to the premiership before we get to see him play fully fit either. Ah we are starting to get somewhere ok so let's just be clear based on your above post and it's quite a simple question for you so you should be ok it's a yes or no answer Your saying don't buy a new number 9 who if we did would be proven and should start but instead start with Murray ? Yes or No ? No drivvle please Who are you suggesting we buy that's a premier league proven striker then Thommo? Rhodes? Oh wait he's not proven in the premier league. So is it crouch that you want then? Perhaps we should buy 35 year old grant holt? Maybe you want a big marquee signing? £30m for sturridge and the extra outlay that would come with his demanded wages? Who is it that you want to buy that's proven? Oh and please be sensible with your ideas regarding 1. Transfer fee and 2. Wage structure. As it is, then yes I'd like to see us try and get someone like Rhodes, but I don't want us to get rid of Murray before we see if he can hack it in the premiership and the only way any of us can know that is by him getting games. I'm not ready to give up on Gayle either and would like to see him get some games perhaps alongside Murray in the last few games of the season. Appreciate your starting to talk reasonably and not jumping on silly comments like 'silly boy' etc you need to construct a response before you do things like that, it's all about individual's opinions and that should be respected. Ok it's true I don't have any names in mind and thus can't answer that accurately albeit to say in the absence of a 'thommo,' I still would not start with Glenn and would then prefer to start CJ and use Gayle as the impact sub, if we don't keep CJ then it would be Cham as the main man up there if we don't keep Cham then it would be unreasonable to suggest we would not break the bank or near to to get a front man in. 2nd point is there is not 1 minute of time that can be afforded to see if someone can hack it in the prem this is not rolling subs for a Sunday friendly league team, your also suggesting that if we are safe with a few games to go we should tinker with the team to see if Murray and Gayle could hack it ? Then you ask me to be sensible in my answers !! Maybe your not quite up on the prem but each position we finish is worth and don't quote me but I think it's worth £200 odd grand so I am sure the board and Tony pulls is under no illusion to finish as high as poss so we can possibly afford a few months worth of 'Thommo's wages next season or redevelopment work of the stadium etc and not hiving the lads a run out. And since Tony himself prefers CJ than Murray then I think that speaks volumes, actually thinking about my last sentence lets say Tony has the chance to sign CJ on a perm that we should be able to afford then why wouldn't he ? He obviously likes his style of play and in fact he bought him whilst he was at Stoke was there you go CJ is my 'thommo' can afford him at approx £3 million and £15 k a week wages tops ( that's our top wage strategy btw and we would not even pay him that) if he is good enough for Tony he is good enough for me although you may know better if so please enlighten us.

Sorry but non of the team have been prolific goals scorers this season. Without the back of John Terry's head and Puncheon finding some good form of late we would still be in trouble. I just wish that some of the chances that have fallen to Jerome had of fallen for Murray, and also that Punch had squared it to Murray yesterday instead of shooting from a tight angle. Murray has earnt the right to play in this team next season.

So if I am to understand you right you're suggesting GM should get the heave ho altogether? As for the trying new players during the end of the season... I suspect Pulis would prefer to find out if some of his predecessors players are good enough for the prem or if he will need a big clear out in the summer. As it is, being that Murray has been higher in the pecking order than gayle since his return from injury and despite not being 100% also speaks volumes. I'd be perfectly happy for jerome to be one of the summer signings, I just don't want him to be at the expense of Murray. Jerome is an incredibly hardworking striker and he has a good level of pace, he is not and has never been an out and out goal scorer though.

Kingva I have just watched the moving scenes at Anfield and just can't be bothered to argue with one of my own anymore you know my thoughts on the matter and just for the record I would get rid of Glenn yes. Have a pint on me and enjoy the rest of the weekend. COYP

I think Willo summed it up perfectly in that the jury's still out on GM. There's a lot emotion as to why GM should be kept/playing, same as Jules contract thread, sorry people, there are going to be hard decisions that upset a certain section of followers, get used to it. It's the club that really matters

This feels very much like the threads 2 years ago when people said "Murray couldn't step up to the Championship" after he'd had an average first season after signing from Brighton. The next season he bagged 30 goals. Give the guy time. He's proved he can step-up and Lambert has proved you can go through the leagues.

Murray's been out with injury for a long time so i never expected much from him this season. I think with a full pre-season & the Premiership experience from this year we will see Murray back to his best. Edited by Gyro1780 (13 Apr 2014 11.33am)

Judge Murray in The Premiership next season. Simple. Some people really demand far to much sometimes.

As funny as it may sound, I honestly don't want many transfers over summer! Pulis is doing well with the players we have ,and we have capability in every area. We need to wait for next season to judge Murray, Gayle could also come good. Then chamakh and Jerome have been doing a good job so far. We honestly have good players in every position and I believe as our results start to get more and more consistent the same players will start to grow in confidence and playing style. We were partly poor in the earlier start of the season because we were like rabbits in the head lights. If you think about it, we have a pretty good squad right now and most of our starting 11 have cut it in the premier league, so do we really need to spend money this summer? I wouldn't want to see more then 3 good players come in.
