To be fair the noise came from villa fans arriving late and walking in on the minutes silence. You could hear their fans hushing them as they walked in ...it's an honest mistake....then you get some clown (in the lower holmesdale) shouting shut up !!! Thus Causing a mild response from the villa fans and an even milder response from the palace fans...all while the other 25'550 stayed quiet and showed our respect.

That is all.....pr@@ks all 14 of you !!!!!

I know a pissed up Villa fan was goading palace supporters on the way to the station. He then got put on his arse.

Fair play to the Palace boys in the arthur for standing up to the villa pissheads,if that area had retreated it could have got out of hand, no reason for trouble with villa, just too many shandies!

It was lucky they did stand up to them because to me it looked like after that big f***er of a Palace fan gave them the stare they didn't want to know. Until of course a bunch of 15 year old Brummies came down thinking they were in the cast of Green Street giving it behind the Stewards.

There were a few pissheads in the away section that caused a bit of a rumpus amongst their own supporters but most of the noise arose because folks were still coming in unaware that the ground was silent. The vast majority were standing quietly and respectfully.

I could also hear noise coming from the catering areas of the Whitehorse Rd stand. Maybe a tannoy announcement with a five or ten minute warning would help next time?

The only problem with Villa fans is the way they speak. Who can feel insulted when all they can chant is: 'Payle arse, oohdel is Payle arse, Oid pree fer oi kipper tie den the shoit doi droink in der poobs'

Yeah, like the one minute silence at 3.06 came as a surprise. Surely most people arrived with that front of mmind. There was just no excuse and I am sure most Villa fans will be deeply angry.

Seemed to be quite a bit of handbags in the Arthur Waite with stuff being thrown during the game yesterday.

Anyone closer see what was going on?

Here's a comment on the Villa forum (Heroes & Villains)
about yesterdays game....

Haven't had chance to post before now so here are my thoughts without reading the previous.

On the train out to the ground I realised just quite how far we had fallen as Palace fans took the piss out of our once great club as they clearly looked forward to another three points. Not Chelsea, arsenal, city or United but Crystal f***ing Palace! Of course the best answer would be for Villa to give them a footballing lesson but it soon became clear that wasn't going to happen. We did keep possession fairly well first half starving them -and us - of any real chances.

At half time though for the second week running the opposition manager saw Villa were there for the taking and with one or tweaks actively urged his team forward. The pressure was building and the need to do something to stem this was evident to all 3000 travelling Villa fans. Sadly not to our illustrious manager no not even after we had survived (correctly) a penalty appeal as result of that growing tide. No changes and surprise surprise who should score against us but the player who always has done well against Villa in recent seasons.

In a stadium which has to be the biggest s***hole since Portsmouth went down we were spineless and rudderless and got turned over by the mighty Crystal Palace. I have no doubt that at the moment this team is by some way the worst in the division. Every other seems determined to still fight and earn unexpected results whilst we act like a charitable organisation handing out points to the poor and needy. I just hope we can somehow find those extra 3/4 which will keep us safe and that the sale of the club which was so heavily rumoured yesterday can happen. After that we go again but hopefully without Lerner and Lambert.

Beyond fury lets just finish this and go

I wasn't in my usual seat(lower Holmesdale) as my Sister(who is quite poorly and 50 yrs old) decided belatedly that she was fit enough to go. Got tickets in Block U,right next to the Villa fans. There were a lot of women and kids in that area also but that didn't stop Villa from hurling abuse and plastic bottles in our direction. At one point the stewards were all at the middle to top section when a few of their lads from lower down wandered upto the Palace fans and gave it the biggun! They soon sat down when we gave it back as several Palace stood up to them! One Villa Tawt started to have a go at my Sister(very poorly and 50 yrs old). It was poetic justice when we scored and they shut up. They then gave their own players abuse and sang anti Paul Lambert songs. Outside we and other Palace were given grief and abuse as we walked past them, again giving as good as we got. Me and my Sister had to walk past their coaches,we both wear scarfs and she has to hold my arm as she has difficulty walking unaided, but yet more abuse and threats came our way(sometimes you just wish you were with your pals but then they probably wouldn't say a thing). I squared up to one fella and told him what I thought of him,he backed down and my parting shot was thanking his team for the 6pts as poor little Palace didn't deserve beating big old Aston Villa! Now hope they go down, cowardly scum! Ollie's Dad,Ash.

Agreed, they kicked my heavily pregnant sister in law when we played them year ago.

Charming bunch, having a go at a 50 year old woman. I actually want Villa to get relegated now, just to shut up their fans.
