I am worried that there a danger that we could be reported to the FA for tapping up Wilf Zaha.

Wilf is under contract to Man Utd.

Could us singing:-
"Wilf Zaha he wants to come home" followed by his thumbs-up gesture be regarded as tapping him up without his parent club's permission?

You silly billy

Wif or Moses I'd be happy with. Not sure Moses is within our range but I think w could get Wilf for 7m

7 Million for Wilf? Really? I mean honestly if he is worth 7 million Yannick is worth 10.

Short memories on here... Wilf is a player on zero confidence and bad form right now. Get him back where he's loved and playing again and hell soon come good.

We don't know what he might turn into though 7 million would be a joke. 7 million buys you the whole package Wilf is not.

Actually Jamie the rules are a little ambiguous,
rule 3(iv) Neither a Club nor any person shall induce or attempt to induce such a Player to leave the Club for which the Player is registered.

Moyes = guilty.
Solskjaer = guilty.

I rest my case m'lud.

Zaharias has done his job for us and moved on and it should stay that way. Now Victor is another matter altogether.

Did t parish say something to effect of 'we'd love to have wilf back' ? I don't know the technicalities but that sounds like tapping up. The fact that neither utd or Cardiff seem to want to keep hold of him means ultimately no one would really give a s***.

No, that's an opinion, not an offer.

Tapping up requires an approach to a contracted player by agents of a third party, without permission to do so
. As fans have no authority to act on behalf of the club, nor the legal capacity to do so, it would not be tapping up.

An actual offer or reasonable belief that an offer has or will be made, has to be involved.

For example, Parish could have dinner with Wilf. Its only tapping up if its reasonable to believe this event was more than just a friendly meeting, and involved a violation of the contract owning clubs interests.

Actually Jamie the rules are a little ambiguous,
rule 3(iv) Neither a Club nor any person shall induce or attempt to induce such a Player to leave the Club for which the Player is registered.

That 'any person' would have to be someone in a position to offer or influence any meaningful inducement. A group of fans have nothing to offer a player. The rule is there to prevent not only clubs but also agents and others professionally connected with players from tapping up.

One of the least enforced rules in football, I'd wager.

Haha
I would love to hear fans chant contract terms to a player to loophole any club wrong-doing.

Start precedings with, to the tune of he's too good for you - 'will 30 grand a week do?'

Or if he's playing hardball to that, to tune of referees a w***er - "we'll match your current contract."

Then if still at an impasse, go west - "we'll throw in your image rights".

Or maybe just sign Tom Ince instead.

I'd buy Zaha in a heartbeat. Zaha, Ince, Bolasie and Joniesta in the same team. Thats what I want to see.

We want young talented players who are going to form the next generation.

If we stay in the PL we don't have to worry about our talent getting poached and can form a team to challenge for the top.

COYP.

I did say it was a little ambiguous, perhaps that is by design you never know with THE FA.
