I think we should all be thinking about the name for the stadium.
We have the Stadium of Light etc etc.

I think we should call our stadium "Selhurst St Germain"

Any other ideas.?

Pretty sure SP has two plans for the stadium both short term and long. One for a Palace in the Championship and one for a Premiership Palace.

The ground still needs work regardless of what league its just being in the Prem means more work can be done quicker due to funds, expansions will be bigger. Facilities better etc due to the extra demand.

A tricky situation for the board definitely. Also they dont want any construction reducing the stadium size on a temporary basis whilst we are still in the Prem.

I know for a fact if we stay up 1 mil is getting put in undersoil heating this summer.

Well that's a first as Palace have repeatedly applied for planning permission to install under soil heating over the years and has always been denied. Noades applied at least twice as did Jordan. I do not know what the grounds for refusal were but I do know the club have wanted to install it at Selhurst Park for years and not been allowed.
It's not even that expensive to install. Certainly not the £1m you mention. Most of the labour costs will be already covered by our own groundstaff who are already on the pay role

Steve confirmed it to be 1m on the bbs

Brighton and their owners are stating they are a big club with a big future. It may cost money, but they believe. What about us? Stand up if you believe in Palace. Stay sitting if you want a small club forever. Thank god A. J. Wait had the foresight and subsequent chairman have followed his lead.

How much are Brighton in Debt? How many times have we completely sold out this season? How many times has anyone that wanted one not been able to get a ticket. More money that is in the pot will enable the club to pay a big enough bribe to build a ground at Crystal Palace Park by completely rejuvenating the Park and surrounding area. The value of Selhurst Park land and Premier League status will make a huge difference. Redeveloping Selhurst would mean nocking down a stand at a time, this will cause chaos getting tickets and would lose a lot of money in ticket sales, I say make hay whilst the going is good, Selhurst is a bit rough around the edges yes but its far better than some of the soulless stadiums I have been to this season.lets trust our owners to do whats right, seem to be doing a great job thus far.

I saw the proposed plans for a new stadium and I was curious as to why, given a clean slate, the tower of the original Crystal Palace was no where to be seen!
I work alongside many of the 't***s who presume to know better'. All I can say is I saw the proposed plans for the 'new stadium' and it baffled me why there was no inclusion of the original Crystal Palace tower!
That would be the one thing that separates us from any other 'globe' currently being built.

It's a bloody tricky thing tondo though isn't it?

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that we will be staying at, and redeveloping Selhurst (thankfully)

It has to obviously be done in phases. The Holmesdale and Ehite Horse stands should be done last, if at all. So I'd assume start with the Arthur and then the main stand. Thing is though that obviously you can't rebuild a stand in the close season, so attendances will be down massively whilst this is being done. We potentially risk a whole 2 seasons with a whole side of the ground shut off for rebuilding. How's that going to work?

I know it needs doing but I think Parish and co have the right idea in just tarting the place up bit by bit for the moment whilst figuring out the best way of knocking stands down. Must be a really hard job. Not forgetting the troubles financially if we're relegated.

Steve P on holradio this week so we'll discuss but I gather from Steve B's comments on the BBS that until we are safe it is not possible to finalise anything so announcement on any details likely to be at the end of season onwards.

There is obviously a lot to despise about your average Millwall fan, but what I do admire about them, is that they know what they are as a club and where they are in the pecking order, and relish in the fact that they are a small club. I am happy in my belief in what we are, smaller than some clubs, bigger than others. I couldn't care less about getting a 35k stadium. Where were all those fans when we were playing Barnsley on a cold wet Tuesday night.

if you speak to a lot of millwall fans they say it all went wrong when they moved to the new den, saving money by not filling in the corners and settling for a 20k stadium, we all want the club to grow and it wont if you have no aspiration.

Don't get what you are saying, it all went wrong when they moved? not filling the corners in makes no difference when you cannot sell out the rest of the seats.
Settling for what you have is sometimes better than punching above your weight and getting out of your depth.

Because its all about what mindset the club has if we keep the small club mindset then we will always be a small club, at least lets give ourselves the chance of becoming even bigger. were the most successful in south london in footballing terms at the moment and we've got a massive catchment area to pull in new fans. look at charlton, the valley hasn't done them any harm only good.

What was the effect on capacity when the Holmsdale end was redeveloped ?
