Get some width in and two forwards attacking with pace and directness with just Jedi as DM and an AM (Bannan or Guediora) will give us more of a chance of creating goal scoring opportunities. For me, Thomas and Bolasie out wide with Puncheon as impact sub. Puncheon drives me nuts, as he ALWAYS turns inside, apart from his cross for Jerome's goal before Xmas. Also, bit short on pace for me. Chelsea react badly to being put under pressure so why not. Everyone expects a Chelsea win, and we are LONG OVERDUE a win against a top 8 side, so why not this Saturday. Selhurst will be loud and we need to really help the lads out. Doesn't matter what system is to be used against this lot. All their players are magic....

I think the idea is to limit that to occassionally, rather than everytime we try to pass the ball in midfield (Overrun generally would refer to creating space between your defensive lines that the opposition can exploit). They only scored once at the bridge, I think we'll be hoping to do slightly better at home or the same.

if you take out the Arsenal and Tottenham results, Chelsea haven't spent the season blowing teams away. In fact, against teams at the bottom end their record isn't a story of 4,5,6 goal wins. They drew with WBA twice, only beat Sunderland and us by the odd goal, lost to Villa and Stoke, drew with West Ham. They seem to find it hard to break down teams who set up defensively and thrive on games where they can sit back and counter attack. Don't get me wrong, on most occasions they will still have the beating of us, but setting out to attack (although tempting from a romantic sense) would probably end in a drubbing, and I think goal difference will be worth an extra point this year (Sunderland -19 v Palace -20 at present)

Time and time again, when big teams face other big teams, they pack the midfield, with one striker up top, to win the battle in midfield. That is key in English football. To go one short in midfield (Chelsea will have 5 in midfield), would be suicide. It's all well and good thinking "one more striker to deal with and we'd be dangerous", but it doesn't work like that. Having two strikers is irrelevant when the midfield is being outfought and battled, particularly when the opposition is of a quality considerably higher than ours. 4231/451, with actual purpose counter-attacking, will be our best bet. We can't try and outplay Chelsea. Even Man City, with all their wealth and star players, switch from a 4222 to a 4231 when they face the more dangerous opponents.

Went to Fulham v Chelsea a couple of weeks back and Chelsea, apart from Hazard, were pretty average against an appallingly bad Fulham side. My Chelsea mate was calling for Schurrle to be subbed before he was allowed to waltz through their 'defence' 3 times. Our defence is way better and if we keep Hazard quiet (which will be tough admittedly) then we have a chance. Chelsea even conceded a really poor goal from a corner. Thanks for the views. I still think that the 4 games we have "no chance of a point in" - Everton I agree we need 3 wins to give us a chance of safety, so perhaps we might as well go for it in every remaining game. I do think though that away from home, a more defensive set up with counter attack is a better policy. This will work well I think against Cardiff, Spammers and Fulham, and strangely enough against Villa at home, as they are a decent away side who...counter attack.

What is the best way to get a result?. Imo its do a West Ham defend for our lives and hope to get a goal on the break. 4 5 1.

Chelsea beat teams when the play on the counter. We don't attack to often and they will have the lionshare which they do not like.
