Can get down the wings and beat people but this rarely ends in a dangerous cross or a shot on target. When I saw him cut inside and line up to shoot yesterday my heart sank because I knew it was going in the stands.

No 'End product' at all.Waste of time looking attractive with pace, runs etc if 'Final ball' is absymal.Far rather have a less atractive player who has good delivery than one like Bolasie.

I cannot say I have ever really been a big fan of Bolasie mainly due to his woeful shooting and genrally poor crossing.

However, in the last few weeks I have seen some changes and against Newcastle his two shots on goal were better, much better, with one only a few inches over the bar and the other crashing on to it.

If the management can improve aspects of his game, get him scoring five or six goals a season and putting in some dangerous crosses then we will have one heck of a talent.

As regards crosses it is often overlooked that when our wide players beat the full back they look up and see nobody in the box. This means them having to do another trick or forced to shoot from a poor angle. Newcastle game we were much better in getting midfield players in to the box. Usually three and sometimes four players waiting for a cross. We were unfortunate in several instances but this will come good I am sure.

Such as?

Agree that Bolassie has struggled to finish this season but he had a very good game on Saturday and came very close on two occassions. He was the only Palace player who got anywhere close to scoring (with the exception of Murray in injury time). So TP took him off - was he not defending well enough!???!

You forgot to add then falls over the ball or gives it to an opponent by trying to showboat tricks he obviously can't do.

He's getting better but a long way from the finished article.

He has to learn when to take on players and when to offload. He reminds me of Routledge who is only now fulfilling his potential.

Bolasie clearly has great tekkers, but is a work in progress still.

A long way from Premiership standard, I fear.

Most of the team probably are, to some degree. We tend to have players who are really good at one thing, but lack that versatility that tends to make them suitable for the premiership standard (ie Midfielders who can score, defend, tackle cross and beat a man - we have ones that can do one but not the other, Defenders who score from corners, wing backs who can double up as wingers, strikers who can drop back into midfield and pass etc.

We have a striker who cannot score (great at winning the ball and holding it up, but not a passer of the ball)

Probably Ward, Jedi, Leadley, Gabbidon and Speroni are the only really versatile players.

Yes indeed. But this thread is about Bolasie.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Jules is versatile ? We playing him up front against Chelsea then ?
