Chamakh 23 + (3 sub) : 5 goals
Gayle 7 + (13) : 3 goals
Murray 3 + (2) : 1 goal
Jerome 13 + ( : 1 goal

do the math!

Edited by maxipalace (18 Mar 2014 6.47pm)

Cant do the maths properly with that information - you need minutes on the pitch as a basic requirement.

However GPG is:

Murray 0.20
Chamakh 0.19
Gayle 0.15
Jerome 0.05

Not sure what the point of that is however, need a bit more info in order to make any kind of meaningful point I would have thought

You can assume that as two thirds of gayles appearances have been as sub ; so his figures are of equal to Chamakh and Murray in terms of mins per goal ratio

No, no you cant. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and smacks of trying to provide evidence for an opinion already held.

If you come on as a sub its likely you have played less mins than if starting. Dear o dear

Do you remember slagging off gayle the day he scored our best goal this season. Your not going to live that one down

Hang on a second Maxi propaganda - you can't just make things up and pass them off as fact you know. Well not unless you're Russian anyway. What exactly are you claiming I said ? Feel free to provide the link to where it was said and let's review it

Stats aren't accurate unless they deal in cold hard fact - 'likely' does not cut it.

Not quite sure what your 'dear o dear' is for - possibly your own inability to construct a reasoned argument ?

from Manosdedios ;

746 mins - 3 goals Gayle
1,210 mins - 1 goal Jerome.

Right, I have actually just done the 'math' (for Gayle at least anyway), and can tell you that he has only played 746 minutes of football this season.

That works out at around 8 full games of football. Personally, I think that 3 goals in 8 games definitely shows promise for his first season?

Regardless of the stats, the lad clearly has goals in him. Give him a go I say!

EDIT: Thought it would be best if we have something to compare it to, so here is Cameron Jerome:

He has played 1,210 minutes, which equates to around 13 and a half full games, and has scored 1 goal....

Edited by manosdedios (19 Mar 2014 2.16pm)

thanks, top man. think that is pretty conclusive evidence.

take him away...

No worries mate.

FYI I got the info off 'whoscored.com' (and just did the adding up) which seems a very reliable source of info.

And I note that, again, you have made a statement that is untrue, been called on it then ignored a request to back it up, so forgive me if I take whatever you say with just the tiniest amount of scepticism...

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue

Usual Maxi bollocks. Takes in to no account the rest of the contribution throughout the minutes on the pitch ..i.e. How many times they give the ball away , assists etc. and on that point who would you rather have in our own box defending set pieces or corners .. Jerome or Gayle? Perhaps height may have something to do with how few goals we are currently conceding. 11 in the last 12 games. Yes , let's get Williams back( f*** knows how many minutes he's played and NEVER scored a league goal),start him with Gayle and Bannan ,and chuck a few academy players in and see how we get on .

I reckon Mariappa has a better goals / minute ratio than most players in the squad, by maxi's logic he should be off top each week

Seeing as all the stats for the premier league this season are from EA Sports, why not go there.

Follow the link for Cameron Jerome's stats and then you click around the others.

You can form any opinion you like.

I must be in the minority that thinks Jerome should be starting now Chamakh's out. We play a lot better with him on the pitch; KG should have buried the winner on sat from a nice layoff from Jerome.

We need that Premier League nous, right now only Puncheon has considerable recent premier league experience in our attack. If Jerome was playing I think we'd find our counter attacks working much better and maybe see the likes of Puncheon, Ince and Murray scoring a lot more.

Yes your in a minority ; like jeromes goal ratio!

We are the Lowest scorers in all competitions out of all 4 divisions!!!

Well I think Mad4Palace is right, also Gayle is not going to solve our goal scoring problems, it will be like Fulham all over again.

some people see premier nouse, others a lazy has been. We need to score goals. Draws wont keep us up

That's not true

Statistically Wilbraham is our best striker. So lets start him Maxi. You love your stats don't you.

Your the one who slagged off gayle saying he is sh**e etc, but has a far better scoring rate than jerome. You going to give it a load of verbal bulls*t like kenny charlton brown??

Goal scoring aside Jerome is a all round better player then Gayle. Wilbraham would be our best striker if he could score. That's a fact I don't care what nobody said nobody has a better touch and hold up play then Wilbs in our squad.
