Don't think Webb was as bad as some think and over the course of the game we got what we deserved..... BUT..... the foul by Lovgren really was the turning point.
Refs are happier to make a mistake that favours a player rather than one that gets them flak for wrongly sending one off. Lovgren should of walked or football has to come up with satisfactory punishments. No way is a free kick defended by a wall and a well positioned keeper a fair reward for robbing a team of a certain goalscoring opportunity. Yes we all know Bolasie would of probably wasted it, but he would of had a chance as Clyne was not on the side of the ball and although as they like to point out he is fast, well sorry, but so the f*** is Bolasie. At least against 10 men even Pulis would of tried to attack a bit more and missing their best centre half would of been a massive advantage for us.
People are blaming the ref for a lot of perceived errors, but really that was the only really big one (forget pulling at corners, no ref has the balls)and that was the one that would of changed the entire game.

I'm fairly sure Lovgren should have picked another card up during the game anyway. There is only so much holding and cynical fouls you can give away before a card is issued and he was culpable all game. I'm sure it was him that gave one of our players a massive shove in the back early on in the 1st half, in the box from one of our throws. Nothing given and as blatant as you will see.

"They got his own song 'He's just too good for you', it's quite unbelievable but when you see it and he's facing up someone - I actually feel sorry for them, 'Cos he actually is" - Ian Holloway

What he did was what I expected, he pandered to the big names and was very forgiving of their offences. I also know what would of happened, had Lovgren on Bolasie been Delaney on Lallana. The pundits say it doesn't happen, but it does and DD would of walked even if Ward had been where Clyne was. For proof look at RVP at WBA yesterday.

If he is supposed to be one of the best in Britain then God help us!.I thought he was extremely poor yesterday principally because he was totally inconsistent. Hope there are a few refs better than he is otherwise we are all going to suffer profound disappointments.

My thoughts exactly,
Van Persie stayed on because of who he is....
West brom should feel rightly aggrieved

If you can re-post replacing all of your "of"s with 'HAVE's then I will agree with you.

Cannot see how people say Webb had a good game or was ok, he missed a Pen,didnot send a player off for the foul on Yannick and as far as the corners/free kicks where Jedinak stood in front of there keeper or Fonte he just kept talking to there players and no action and it carried on and on.

Agree Webb is a showman and is everyone's mate,so he does not want to make a decision.

...refs should remain impartial and not allow themselves to be spoken to during a game, Lallana should of been dealt with by one of our players without a doubt.

.......has our coach driver done a Poo'yet, without thinking about Gus!
