Fulham qualified for Europe this way back in 2011. "The Respect fair play assessments are made by the official UEFA delegates, based on criteria such as positive play, respect of the opponent, respect of the referee, behaviour of the crowd and the team officials, as well as cautions and dismissals." This is why Scandinavian teams head the fair play table.

Liverpool had been banned and had finished above us in league so the second European Cup place should go to the third placed team - Palace. Well obviously that couldn't be allowed - who Outside of UK had heard of CPFC - so UEFA lifted Liveool's ban earlier than planned so they could qualify. If I'm proved wrong I apologise in advance!

IMO some of you fans are making mindless comments...were crystal palace, a small club who would normally never get anywhere near european competition! i would love it, love it to see palace play in europe...it would be amazing, and people talk about the europa cup like its some 2 bob competition, were not a big club who can turn our nose up at such competitions!

Even if we just got to play early rounds against some Eastern European no-marks, following Palace in Europe would be an absolute dream.

It wouldn't put a strain on the squad as we would probably only play two matches! Interesting that a TP side can be 6th in a fair play league. Not what we have been led to believe.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Didn't we qualify via this route the last time we were in the Premier League? I'm sure I remember us playing in the qualification rounds of a European competition (one of the versions before the Eurpoa League now). I think we played 1 or 2 games which were effectively treated as pre-season because they were early July. I hope my memory hasn't played tricks with me !

Correct! Seem to remember we went up to leeds and beat them , which all but guarenteed at least a third place finish .Liverpool then had their ban lifted early, so after playing all season not being in the equation , with a couple of games left they were back in!!

A potential trip to Lisbon to see Palace would be better than sex. I am married though to be fair.
