Pricing is one of the big issues, when I was a kid my parents took me & my 2 siblings to games, won promotion in 79 & that was it, priced out of going following the price hike. I got involved in other things and wasn't until a few years ago when my kids started getting into football I started taking them to games. I know the prices are good value compared to other teams but it's an expensive day out whatever way you look at it. If we kept the prices down we would attract more supporters who might otherwise lean towards another London team but are priced out, a generation later & their kids will be Palace through & through.

Keep what we have but update it.

25,000/30,000 maximum is big enough for us.

A full rocking, noisy Selhurst as opposed to one that has 25/30k (if we're lucky) in a 40k stadium, apart from the odd game when every tom, dick and harry wants a ticket, cos they have supported Palace for years but just cant seem to get the less attractive games

We're not one of the big boys in this league, stay within our means, fill up what we have every game and then look where we are say 5 to 10 years down the road

32k should be around be the most we will ever get for a stadium and thats based on a few season in the premiership. Completely agree it has to be tiered with the top tier sold out.

Why not cheapen ticket prices to get more people to come?

Anyone calling for 35/40 simply need to look at this

[Link]

where are these 20,000 extra people coming from? IN mid 80s our attendence was down to 6500 average, how awful would that look nowadays?

I also feel more fans waters down the atmosphere, certainly did on saturday, would rather a loftus road type ground, compact, personally, but if it most go ahead 32 sounds about right.

There is a massive potential to increase our attendances and fan base locally you only have to look at the number of kids wandering around croydon in arsenal /chelsea tops. This is of course linked directly to our success on the pitch and ability to remain in the prem. Championship footie next season would definately slow our growth whereas another year in the prem accelerate it. Stadium improvements are necessary in both scenarios.

I'd suggest we need to be playing to capacity every week an turnig people away first...

I thought that bar a few hundred...most of our home games this season have been near sell outs. It's rarely completely 100% sold out because if you book late you can't get decent seats and are only offered singles or daft seats behind pillars.

In vancouver, the white caps play in a massive stadium, the entire top tier that wraps around the pitch is empty and partially hidden with blinds - looks pathetic.

I reckon we should aim for 35k

i have often wondered if we built a 40k stadium but half way up a tier, it had a short term wall, behind it space for extra seats.

anyways, we need to stay in prem first

I understand most of a clubs income does not come from gate money. Rather it is tv, sponsership and merchandise. With this in mind perhaps Palace should pitch at a price that would ensure the stadium is completely full. If this means 40,000 capacity, go for it. There really is history of 35,000 to 40,000 at the Palace. Just when the MOT build a relief road to ease congestion more traffic appears! It will be the same with a stadium at Selhurst.
And how come my Dad took me and me bro every week, along with the bloke downstairs and his lot and many other families, but nowadays this could not be possible? FGootball needs to rethink the economics of it all.
