I cannot think because something has always been done or said over the years, we should put up with it. If Stirlingsays thinks it's ok to carry on doing the wrong thing when do we ever stop doing the wrong thing? How many times does someone burgle your house or rape your missus? Oh, they do it all the time, that's ok then. Heavens no!

Confronting a mob will just make them act even worse so as to big up themselves in front of their stupid mates. Like seeing a group of very drunk teenagers. Best left alone to their stupidity unless you can get them one on one because at that age they can snap at the slightest slight as you know and things can get well out of hand.

Don't put yourself in a dangerous situation. Confront them as individuals by all means but if you try to do it to a mob then you are being foolhardy I think.

I am embarrassed by the coin throwing, the singing - every team's supporters do it, but it doesn't make it right.

I assume that now the FA are going to investigate the incident that the club will be fined for not controlling "our fans" - which is clearly true in this instance.

As such I am sure we will be fined.

On the basis of CCTV and the fact that hopefully the people who did this are traceable - shouldn't the club prosecute this person/people to get the money back?

Hit them where it hurts - usually works.

Embarrassed of singing? That must be a mistake.

I'm tough. I'm ambitious. I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, I'm OK with that.

Sorry - the singing songs about Moyes' daughter, Ron's Mum, people dying on the runway etc - every set of supporters sings a song that you wouldn't want your 5 year old to sing - it isn't right therefore - that's what I mean, but I accept that when I am at a footie match that I will hear songs like this, bad language etc.

Personally though I would prefer not to hear them - plenty of good songs to be sung without trying to wind up your opposition - that will surely only make them try harder.

First time I have posted in about a zillion years but I just had to. Saturday was an extremely uncomfortable afternoon for myself and the other numerous females who sit in block B. I have always been proud of Palaces banter, songs, noise, colours but Saturday let me down big time. Songs about a young girl being a slag, relentlessly, sung with such viscious enjoyment was scary, I wasn't scared, I mean scary as in the attitude and vitriol which is supposedly acceptable against women. Who are these idiots? do they not have sisters? mothers? I doubt they have girlfriends but they must know some females no? and I suspect those females have all slept with a boy at some point? Are we all slags, by that token I certainly am. It was vile, embarrassing and sadly sung by the majority around me. It's not ok to be sexist, it really really isn't, and it's not harmless banter, it's hateful.

Oh my word. Rhona's back from the dead!

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I don't understand the big deal about the songs about Moyes daughter. From the Arthur, all I heard was:

he f***ed Lauren Moyes
he f***ed Lauren Moyes
oh Wilfried Zaha
He f***ed Lauren Moyes

If this is what we're talking about, I see no issue with this, seeing as it's true.

Also, why is someone a slut for sleeping with Wilfried Zaha. Could've been interpreted as a sly dig at him...

Unfortunately in my seventy years of watching football, mostly at Selhurst, there have always been some who let the side down. Now I realize not all the bad behavior came from Palace fans and there is nothing we can do about the uninvited who show up just looking for a scrap, however, if Palace fans are ever identified as precipitating bad behavior I think those of us who respect everybody connected with the game should make some effort to have our delinquent fans appropriately reprimanded.

there was a chant calling Lauren Moyes a slut.
