So if he leaves on loan can we put Johnny Williams or Tom Ince In our 25 man squad as they weren't listed before ?

Edited by Baldfella (19 Feb 2014 12.35pm)

This has been covered before - they do not need to be named in the 25 as they are under 21s. So there is no need to get rid of anyone on loan as they can play anyway.

I think Gayle will be kept as 'one for the future' but might go out on loan.

One thing nobody has mentioned here is money. My guess is that Guediora, as a deadline day deal, is probably being paid an inflated salary and if Forest are happy to pick up his wages for the rest of the season, then it offsets some of the expense incurred by bringing in Ince, Ledley, and Dann which I suspect are not small sums. This may be fuelling our willingness to let Guediora move; his disproportionately high salary for a now bit part player are not sensible.

I think the only future Gayle would conceivably have to be kept for is a Championship one, and that's the reason he wasn't sold in the last window. If we go down, he might be worth having so we hedged our best. If we stay up, I think he'll be gone in the summer. Pulis clearly doesn't think he's Premiership quality. The fact I don't either is neither here nor there. Someone in the Championship (if it's not us) will pick him up in the summer.

Good player. Don't want to see him leave at all.

Yet was in the squad against West Brom.
Pulis obviously has not written him off yet Syd.?
Unlike yourself.

I've just seen an early press release from 2017 when Gayle's contract is up.

Good news

It says 'Dwight will be offered another 4 year deal as we think he is one for the future'

We will see. But "In the squad" is a hardly a ringing endorsement, is it, given that he has spent the whole season falling further and further down the pecking order. Of course, you may be right and Pulis rates him. Or I may be right and he doesn't. But I would say the evidence is fairly clear. An out of position Ince, an injured Murray and a career substitute in Jerome all get on the pitch comfortably ahead of him. You can count the minutes he's actually played since Pulis arrived on a couple of hands and feet.

Pulis really didn't think much of Holloway's signings did he?

Only Puncheon and Chamakh have been somewhat successful. He clearly doesn't rate Bannan, Guerdiora, Kebe, Jerome, Gayle or Campana.

Damn, what a waste of money. No wonder 2010 were very reluctant to rebuild again in January (although they did eventually and I'm not complaining).

Probably true except for Gayle. What a fook up we made last summer!

To be honest nobody forced 2010 to agree with Holloways requests, they were quick enough to stop TP buying a number of players. I think 2010 were as liable for any fook ups as Holloway.

If Gayle does go before fulfilling any kind of potential it will reflect badly on Palace. He was a good player before he came, so what's changed? Cost loads too. Only the likes of Arsenal write off a player too quickly. Alternativley, Palace have always allowed time for young players and made the corresponding profit as well as providing internationals.

Plenty of players i would like to see go out on loan, before him, and he is in the 25! My fear is if called upon, due to injuries or suspensions, he would do a good job, and we need that cover for our run in!

I like him and if it were up to me I'd keep him but if he is to go out on loan I think I'd definitely make sure Forest accept a 24 hour recall clause to cover ourselves against injuries/suspensions. As said he is in our 25 after all!
