I think it's a little unfair on Sow - have many of you seen him play in the Dev team? When he was signed Millen was quoted as saying that he wouldn't be for the first team or prem 25 he would be for the dev squad. He seems something of a target man. To my knowledge this is something we don't have in the dev squad (if you ignore Wilbs appearances for that squad).

Has anyone seen enough of the dev team fixtures to make an informed comment about him and not just taking out frustrations from Holloway's dealings on a lad most of you could probably not even pick out of a line up?

Ha fair points, you've definitely called me (and probably a few others) on that one.

i get what you're saying but wouldn't it be better to find someone a little younger and use the development team to develop them into a first team player? That way they coul break into the first team with other similarly aged players who had the ability.

Oh of course and I have no idea if he is any good. I guess someone must have seen some potential but at 23 (I think) he is a little long in the tooth for the dev squad I would have thought. Possibly bought alongside the short term prem deals as an insurance policy for relegation. Should we go down and our single yearers all leave at least we may be left with some that can step up and have had a season under their belt within the club.

Just a thought and yes I am playing a bit of devils advocate as I am no more knowledgeable about Osman than any of you.

My fantasy teams are the worst in the world so I'm going to come out and say he is rubbish just to keep to my known ability at judging wrongly so he knocks 50 in for us next season.

I saw him play in the pre-season matches and he was average enough. He may well need time to get used to English football. Haven't heard that he has particularly ever been much more than adequate in the development squad. Seems pretty unlikely he would be a premier league first team regular. However, if he plays I will support him as much as I supported Calvin Andrew.

My point is osman sow will never come close to playing a league game for us whether it be in the premiership or championship. For me, pointless signing. Can't see us why he would be signed just for the development team. 23 years old, I'd rather the likes of Kaikai, sekajja, tieku and any other young player get there chance at development level.

I know that was your point but based on what? Quite a statement to make unless you have some inside knowledge of course.

How can you justify given him an extension on his contract, based on not featuring for the first team, or barely featured for the U21s?

I don't have to justify anything. I have not made any unfounded bold statements about someone I have very very little knowledge of. I suggested it was a little unfair to state that he is not even good enough for a Championship outing. I agree that he most likely wouldn't be up to prem level but Millen did state when they were negotiating that he was being signed for the dev squad and I have suggested that perhaps he was signed with an eye on planning for a short term future in the Champ.

This is a non argument. I was interested to know more about him but in this thread I have learned nothing except rossboss thinks he will never play a competitive game for us unless in a much lower division.

Yeah in fairness, I have been using bold and sweeping statements. Good luck to the fella. If he does ever play for us, I wish him well, and hope he does well.
