We need to win at least six games to stay up ...I'd like us to win the NEXT six games I.e. put it beyond all possible doubt asap. Definitely a six pointer and a great opportunity to create some clear blue water between us and the bottom. Come on Palace!!!!

Would like Joel Ward to play alongside Jedi. They are both incredibly strong centre midfielders who will be able to keep Hull's centre mids quiet

Edited by joe1cpfc (22 Jan 2014 8.49pm)

Ward is nowhere near a premier league central midfielder.

He's done a decent job for us there but he's a very good right back and he's muddling through at the moment in the middle when he should be excelling in his rightful position.

Totally agree with Onions. Ward looks like a Premier League full back, but a Championship midfielder. His first touch is not crisp enough and his distribution is not good enough. O'Keeffe is the man if KG is unavailable.

Yes, 3 points at home are crucial at this stage, as it's a home game against a team on bad form...new blood in the team or not, those guys haven't gotten any experience playing the Hull system yet and let's hope that works to Palace's favor.

For the rest of the home schedule, we should have WBA well in hand. 3 points against Villa is looking less likely by the week (though I hope I'm wrong) and while I'd love a few home upsets, not terribly likely given the guns coming in...maybe 1 or 3 points from Southampton, maybe 1 or 3 from ManU depending on the returns of Van Persie and Rooney.

Before they got their two new strikers I would have said 3 point home banker, but they have added some decent firepower up front we haven't, and as it stands I can see that being the difference between the two sides as every where else we are evenly matched.

It is a big game but people saying that if we win there will be clear daylight between us and relegation is jumping the gun a bit.

We have had a run of 'easier' home games recently and have simply picked up the points we needed to in order to stay in the race.

Every game will be the most important until our fate is sealed.

Towards the end of the season there is bound to be some strange results, teams fighting for survival / CL places, some teams with little to play for.

All we can do is take one game at a time. If we are out of the bottom three great but don't get carried away, if we drop into the bottom three be disappointed but there's a long way to go.

The end of the season is going to be a bit strange with players preparing for the world cup not wanting to get injured.

Isn't Huddlestone suspended?

NO.

He was given 2 yellow cards therefore its only a 1 game ban which will be this w/e for their FA Cup game Vs Southend

Why do some people worry so much about other teams players. We have kept 6 clean sheets in our last 12 games. Long and Jelavic are decent strikers but they are not world beaters. There is a reason that they have signed for Hull and not Chelsea. We have kept Lukaku, Giroud, Remy and and Torres all quiet and each of those guys are better than those 2. It will be a tough game, they all are but we should be confident going into any home game.

I'd personally like to see O'Keefe in the starting 11 alongside Jedinak.

I agree. Get O'Keefe in and put Ward back at RB instead of Mariappa

I might be wrong, but is Huddlestone suspended? If he is, that may help us out a bit.

Right now I'd take a point. But would really love us to get all 3.

EDIT - Just read up. Huddlestone isnt suspended. Would defo take a point right now if offered.
