Yep im afraid so. Always felt it would be the same as always but had hopes that lessons would have been learnt and Iain Moody's spreadsheets we would have done better by now. Troubles lie ahead with TP if we fail in tnis window imo

I agree, I don't see him hanging around in the summer if we fail to get one single target of his this window.
Its easy to forget he is not a Palace man, he is not a Palace fan either. He is doing a job of work and a very good one too but I doubt he'll stay on if he starts to feel he is doing the job with one arm tied behind his back! Why would he? I wouldn't continue working for someone that expected me to do a job with half the resources of my counterpart if I knew I could get work elsewhere.
That said Browett does seem very optimistic that new recruits will come. I doubt that's a lie as he knows he'll look a real fool if nothing materialises.

i think thats one of the best things about him...no "hero" status as a player...he doesnt have that in the back of his mind when making decisions.

Christ on a bike. They're trying to get players in at the right prices for the club so we don't screw up financially again. What in any small way is farcical about that?

There is no evidence whatsoever that TP is getting the hump. He obviously would have discussed transfer tactics in this window when he signed on the dotted line and he's said as much.

But feel free to stir it up and create a nonsense scenario

No maybe not yet, but he has said that he would of expected signings in by now. If and its only if right now but if we dont get anyone in i can see trouble. I just dont think he will be a happy bunny

For what it's worth, I actually think we can survive as we are.

I am less inclined to share this viewpoint.
Pulis will really be a miracle worker if we fail to add to the squad and stay up.

It might be the case that those who believe we can survive with the current squad will change their minds if we lose our next game and slip back into the relegation places !

It shows the gulf between the board and HOL. Posters here want to sign a gay player. The board want to put irons in the fire.

But surely anyone can see we have not got anyone to play the gay role on the pitch !

I can remember roughly forty plus years ago, finding out that Steve Kember had been sold on the BBC1 Nine o' Clock news. I don't think I ever heard a single word come out of Arthur Wait or Raymond Bloye's mouth. The board was there to run the club (badly, as it turned out). Not to comment on football business. Whether that model is better than today's is, I suppose, a matter of opinion but I cannot say the wittering of a chairman on matters related to players has ever enriched my life. Personally, the only voice I really want to hear related to Palace is TPs.

And so say all of us

There are 10 days left of the window. I say let's judge the club's signing policies when it's shut.

Agree totally,
Too many people ride the wave of euphoria when we win and only want to see the positive. The reality is Pulis is doing an amazing job but he needs help. That help can only come in the form of two or three quality experienced signings. If we don't capture these targets I really can't believe we will stay up. Anyone who believes otherwise is IMO burying their head in the sand and not really understanding the task in front of us

I think there has been a lot of friction and 'heated discussions' between TP and Parish/Moody.

Expect TP would prefer more experienced pro's (i.e. Crouch, Etherington) but Parish wants to bring in younger players that would represent a resale value.

Also suspect that TP isn't best pleased they haven't wrapped up the signings of Scott Dann and Wayne Hennessey much sooner.

Like the last transfer window (and the one before that) this will go down to the wire again.

Pretty much all speculation and guesswork.

For whatever it is worth, we finished the Stoke game (won 1-0, remember all "gloomers"?) with ten out of 11 players from last season's squad. Of course, 1-2 quality signings would be welcome (left back and striker), but not the end of the world. With Guedioura together with the captain, Ward at right back and our work rate and fighting spirit under TP, there is a good possibility of renewed PL contract. And if not, I for one will be a happy man in the Championship as well.
