Im really not surprised at this given Holloways sporadic transfer policy in the summer, I think that getting 6 or 7 players out this window should be as a high a priority as getting a few in.Especially the like of Garvan and Wilbraham.

strange way to define a squad. I'd say they picked it intentionally to pick out Palace rather than the other way around.

Parish sets the record straight:

"This study is an anomaly. It is not saying we have the biggest squad, it is saying we have used the most number of players over the last few years.

"In 2010, we were in administration and missed out on Championship relegation and now we are in the Premier League, so given where we have come from, it is not surprising. We overachieved and we had to get a lot of new players in to refresh the squad.

"Some of the players will be from the academy, and we like to give players that opportunity - whereas other teams, such as Tottenham and Chelsea, have lots of young players who don't get anywhere near the first team.

"We have taken criticism for signing too many players, but in the Premier League you get injuries, players leave or a couple don't fit. And I suspect we have less players out on loan than other top Premier League clubs."

I know a great club called Crystal Palace .
Crystal Palace brings joy ( and frustration , at times) to our South London Community and our supporters elsewhere in Great Britain and the wider world .
I get so sick of negative criticism of our club .
I have handed my Stoke programme to my grandson so I don't have the squad list on the back of the programme.
I have absolutely no idea how many players we have got and I really don't care .
The Evening Standard reports that Palace have too many players - CIES say so !
Who on earth are CIES ?
The directors , management and the players at our club have brought us to the Eldorado of the Premiership .
If we remain in the Premiership , it will be a slap in the face for all the sneerers and detractors who write off our club .
If we return to the Championship , Big Deal - so we failed to compete with foreign multi billion money !
But I believe our club will stay in the Premiership and deserves to ! Look at the way our players try for each other v, and for us !
I look from my seat at Selhurst Park and I see kids
practising skills, kids getting certificates for academic prowess , and adults lifted by the spirit
and togetherness of our club .
This club brings so much to our South London Community.
Now who are CIES Football Observatory , what money is behind this organisation , who owns and who works for this observatory, do they bring joy and inspiration to their adherents ?
I am heartily fed up with the statisticians , pundits , navel watchers , and hacks, who don't appreciate our club.
Our club serves our Palace Community and I am grateful for it.
( have we got too many players ? should I care ?)

Would guess something to do with the Evening Standard with the ES on the end, CIES could be: Crap in Evening Standard. Just a guess mind

We may the squad with the largest players but ours are particularly small. Surely they should measure all squad members and conclude on overall weight.

Supporting Crystal Palace since 19.45 on 29th August 1972 (approximately)!

Article in todays Sun:

Crystal Palace have the biggest squad in Europe.

A report by a Swiss company claims that on October 1 the Eagles had 34 players who had played in the last 3 seasons despite the Prem's 25 man squad ceiling.

That outstrips Arsenal with 31 along with Italians Chievo and French outfit Ajaccio and makes it the largest squad in Europe's top 31 divisions

This report was by Swiss company CIES Football Observatory
