I know how you are feeling as you know we went through it with dougie.I can only sympathise with you and wish you best of luck for the season as I thinl taking the p1ss out of the situation as some people may do is hypocritical as we went through the same thing. I hope you don't feel to bad about palace and I really hope you can find someone who can replace your legend like we replaced our legend paul ince?? Good luck to blackpool

WTF ?

Sorry I didn't put any full stops I meant paul ince is linked what does he think?

Got to say I have sympathy with grumpy, we were in this position last week. Obviously well chuffed with the appointment though. All the best to Blackpool and hope you get a good replacement in.

I understand while Blackpool fans would be annoyed after all we were last week. There's only one issue I would like to raise here and that is the quote "I will never walk out on a contract again" I would just like to say technically be did but he only as a one year rolling contract that never ends so was he supposed to stay at Blackpool until he got sacked because he would always be in a contract? Also personally I don't see it as walking out on a contract if its yearly rolling, lets be fair it's hardly a contract in the first place, if he was on a 3-4 year contract and had 2 years or so left then I would be sympathetic and agree but I can't see it as walking out on a contract under the circumstances he was in and it was no secret he wanted a longer 3-4 year contract to provide security to his family and if be was given that maybe he would of stuck to his word on that point.

I was just having a laugh.

Holloway was a hero whilst he was at Bloomers but the writing was on the proverbial wall a few weeks ago.

Our Chairman is a man who made himself bankrupt for a month so his Wife and the mother of his children got a pittance. His Dad (a current Director and former Chairman) is a convicted rapist.

They have siphoned all the Premiership money we earned into several companies owned by them.

They bought a piece of land adjoining the ground for £500,000 and then sold it back to the club for £6,400,000 less than two years later.

That's all true and is in the public domain so your Mods don't need to press any panic buttons.

I feel for you guys Grumpy...its a sad fact that once a Manager moves it then generates a domino effect as we've seen. I wish Blackpool and their fans all the best and hope you get your managerial situation sorted as soon as possible.

I do feel your pain GrumpyBlackpoolFan. We thought Dougie would have stayed with us at least 4-5 years....and he walked out just before a game! What confused us more is that we are playing so well and very well placed in the league.

He said in a post match interview a few weeks ago "I'm not going to leave just yet, I've only done half a job"

As we found out there is no loyalty in football.

I do agree with palace-eagle. Our approach was made on Thursday at 8pm. It could have been dealt with quicker your end.

You've got a good set up, a nice stadium and fans that create a good atmosphere. I'm sure you'll get a good replacement in - there are some good managers out there. You will be ok in the end.

This - I think Blackpool, from what their fans seem to say, need to sort out the chairman first - he has more than a touch of the Uncle Ron's about him and is more concerned with trousering as much as he can

Yes-good luck for the rest of the season Grumpy. My take on the whole managerial merry go round is that they are just as bad as the players to whom they have the front to preach loyalty then bugger off themselves when a better offer comes in!Holloway has made us feel a lot better but the Dougie thing has left a very bitter taste in the mouth. The ONLY loyalty in football is the blokes you drink with before the game and the fellow who sits next to you every game.Apart from that there is NOTHING........

Understand mate - we definitely know how this feels although this Oyston bloke seems like a right piece of work. We've generally had calculating (Noades) incompetent (Goldberg) and egomaniac (Jordan) but never someone like Oyston. Thats the worrying thing as managers come and go.

Freedman was a real jolt for us as he was a playing hero, and while Holloway is great for us now - more as a statement of intent from the owners than anything else, although I think he has talent - and how upset you lot are confirms that I think, then it might not work. And even if it does, if he gets a better opportunity in the future he might well go.

All clubs like ours can do these days is make it as attractive as possible to someone we want to keep - but there are of course limits.

Good luck with the manager search - been on your forum and seem like a decent bunch. Can you stop playing glad all over though please ?

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue

My family are Blackpool fans and we always do the home and away of Pool vs Palace. Always rated Holloway, think he will be great for us and has taken you as far as he can. Good luck for the future, but nick our song wee nick your manager .

Quote Bald as AJ at 04 Nov 2012 11.34am

A man not completely happy with his lot
A man drained from battle with an uncooperative chairman
A man who's family live in the south
A man who needs a new challenge
A man who'd done all he could for you
A man who will do the same for us

Get over it mate
Shame to say it but that's football
We've just lost a club legend.. A man who when you said his name u thought of 1 club CPFC
Scorer of over 100 goals who took us up twice and saved us three times
Perhaps it's harder for u as ur best times r behind u
And with all we've been through we would like to think better days r ahead. I certainly think so
Holloways enthusiasm is infectious and he seems genuinely excited by the challenge ahead.
With hard work and real ambition ..Dreams can come true..
But they also come to an end. Sorry for ur loss but all the best
We r for the moment
GLAD ALL OVER

Nice one, put very well indeed!

Contracts and conditions have obviously been previously (informally) discussed. Why else would Holloway spend the Friday night at one of our Chairmen's houses.?

That seems to be the way football business is conducted these days, which our own Steve Parish conceeded was mostly due to League rules.

I have a lot of sympathy for Blackpool fans, for whom Holloway gave them some unforgattable times. But ultimately Holloway was still on a rolling contract, and needed to be closer to London for family reasons.

Meanwhil we have a Palace legend walking out on us, after The Board gave him plenty of slack during our worst start to the league for many years.
24 hours later he's taking backroom staff and openly talking about Palace players.

Plenty of worse stuff happens in football. It makes you more appreciative of the good times
