Loftus Road and Sothampton (The Dell). I guess I was spoilt by Selhurst Park!

Can't believe no one's mentioned Priestfield (Gillingham). Has to be the worst I've gone to. In fairness it does suit the town in which it is situated though.

Too right about Priestfield. I never saw Palace play there but I went with a friend who is a Shrewsbury supporter to see the Shrews play the unmentionables in 1997. A dire ground - or certainly was in the 90s.

Going against the grain a bit here, but I always quite enjoyed the old Den. Perhaps because in the 60s and 70s, the peak of our rivalry with Millwall, there was always a great atmosphere there with 20,000 plus crowds. Mind you it could get a bit nasty.

My first ever football match was at Welling United. Their ground is truly awful (if you can even call it a ground!)

In terms of Palace matches - worst for me was Rotherham.

Getting in; The Valley
Getting out; Loftus Road

Others equally up there; Turf Moor, Home Park, Vicarage Road, Ashton Gate, Broadfield, Dean Court, The Hawthorns, Bramall Lane- overrated and Hillsborough looks dated.

Loads from the past already mentioned on the thread but in really recent times I have to say Vicarage Road was a total dump. I told my Watford supporting neighbour so and after a few seconds consideration, he had to agree

Luton is a dump. The Valley is horrible - getting in, then getting searched, then having to get past the queues for the toilets and to get something to eat before you get to the seats

The Abbey was dire as was Kenilworth as was Plough Lane - The Den and The Goldstone I actually liked.

The Dell had a f***ing awful view in the away end

Plough Lane - could see nothing on a windy day cos the cinders of the terracing blew up in your eyes, Gillingham was terrible - I remember the old covered stand that was like the old Subbuteo Grandstand (just a bit bigger), Kenilworth Road, Barking's ground, but surely the worst of all was Wembley - walking through half a foot of piss at the end of the game if you were in the top tier when you came back down the stairs - made the old holmesdale toilets look like there was drought.

Worst view pre-Hillsborough has gotta be a tie between Kenilworth road and The Den (old) 80% of the pitch at best and that through wire fencing with spikes. Plus, the getting out alive scenarios. Fookin great fun. I miss it.

Portman Road used to be like that as well Kerms with the way they laid out the cages you had the devils own seeing the goalmouth.

Barnsley's Oakwell should get another nomination as the most freezing ground ever....with Bradford a close second.
