Not sure but I think JIm Cannon got involved with Whyteleafe FC....... he certainly lived there.

I played for Green Star based in Thornton Heath and we were coached by Jim Cannon. He sometimes brought Ian Evans a long for some sessions. I remember him bollocking me one game for missing a sitter with my head. I answered back and he immediately substituted me. I was only 14 at the time. He was a hard coach but a really nice guy.

I fancied playing for a team coached by Tony Taylor. Just one training session and I realised what a slacker I really was. He was tough!

Mark Lindsay took some sessions for Croydon Harps at the Sir Philip game Club when I was with them in the 70s

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

My girlfriend at the time was best friends with Mark Lindsays wife, so met him quite a lot, his family were from New Addington. He went to play in America, the first time they tried to set up a football league over there, Tampa Bay Rowdies or such like, still over there now
Was a nice guy and good mates with Paul Hinshelwood
