Palace v Orient in the cup in 1982 - the very worst possible 0-0 draw.

Palace v West Ham in the re-arranged game after the lights went out at their place. As far as I remember Zohar didn't move off the half way line for the entire 2nd half.

Various games againt Wimbledon including losing 5-0, 4-0 in the rain and 3-0

Millwall away on Boxing Day in 2003 - goalless at half time and then they scored 3 times in 10 minutes in the 2nd half

Losing 1-6 at home against Liverpool with a not so Butch Wilkins in the team

The Crewe game in 2003 when we wanted the game to be abandoned due to fog

The Brighton home game in 2005 when we lost 1-0 and the entire Palace team looked like they didn't give a stuff about it. Compare their reaction to the response of the Brighton players and supporters after the game

Palace ve Reading in 95 - Richard Shaw's last game for Palace before he joined the ranks of players who moved onto 'bigger things' and win trophies which funnily enough hardly any of them did.We lost 2-0 and his parting gift was an own goal

I think it was in the mid sixties. We were chasing Peter brough for promotion from Division four and everything we did The Posh did better. Anyway,we had a home game against Gillingham and they were bottom and we were second and we had been scoring quite a few goals so I went expecting a goal spree. It was as cold as I can ever remember it and by half time the score was 0 - 0 and we had never looked like scoring. Gilingham came for a point and had blocked us out almost completely!. Then midway through the second half Budgie Byrne banged one in from about twenty odd yards and for the first time that afternoon I could feel my feet and hands and was surprised that I still had a nose. They announced that The Posh ,away from home, were winning by a large margin so we had to win to stay in touch and in the dying minutes somebody scrambled another goal for us from a goalmouth meelee. I then began to feel the blood circulating again for the first time in 90minutes only to wake up next morning with the flu! So much for my goal spree,it was like pulling teeth!.

Longtime - that was 4th March 1961 - 22559 braved the elements - not me though as I was only 5. Byrne scored 1 and Roy Summersby got the late one.

We lost the next 4 games after this, but then won 6 from the next 7 to seal 2nd place behind the Posh & promotion from Div 4.

Worst games seen?

A lot have been described as above. I can recall some dreaful home losses, e.g. Chester 1976, 1-2, I vowed never to go again after that. Think I missed 1 game!

QPR away, lost 6-0 - Miller stood and watched the ball flying past him, the fat cheat. That was the angriest I have ever been at a game.

Zaha, Williams, Murray, Ambrose, Scannell.

Blackpool 2007 (I think). They had their keeper dismissed after 4 minutes and we thought we could easily take the 3 points.

Nope, they scored on half-time as we struggled to create any chances whatsoever. I think their replacement keeper may as well have stayed on the bench! One of the worst for me

In the 0-5 against Wimbledon in 85, I seem to recall that hey had a shot that hit the inside of the post at the Holmesdale and rolled across the goalline, and just stayed out.

Wimbledon again in the rain in 93 losing 0-4

Crewe in 2003 hoping the game would be abandoned due to fog

QPR at home on Boxing day 1994 during our run where we couldn't score. I think Ian Cox blasted one over the bar, and we didn't look like we could hit a cow's arse with a banjo

Reading at home in 87 or 88 when we lost 3-2 at home just after Christmas. Horrible.

Any game against scunthorpe in the previous 2 seasons.

Some terrible performances being listed on here.

For me the one I would like to add is when we played Cambridge away in the 3rd round of the FA cup.

If I remember rightly it was the year that the 3rd round was played in December and the game was on a Friday night. It was pissing down with rain, I had drunk far to much during the afternoon and ended up with a cracking hangover before the end of the game and we lost 0-1 with the team obviously not giving a s***.

Awful night. Ended up spending £70 getting a taxi home from Kings Cross as well.

One of the worst perfomances i remember was northampton away in the first round of the league cup 1984/85 season steve coppell's 1st season. It was when northampton still played at the cricket ground. It was 1-0 to us from the 1st leg and there was only 2000 people there and we just held on for a 0-0. I don't think we had one shot on goal the whole game. I can't think for the life of me why i went because i had gone to sherwsbury on the saturday and seen us get beat 4-1. Talk about being young and stupid. Those mid 80s years really were the dark days.

Hoof Hearted 13 Oct 11 11.45am

Palace 0 Brighton 1 - last time we played them at home on a tuesday night a few years back.

Got mixed up with a load of weed being marched to the ground and the coppers wouldn't believe I was Palace till I showed them my membership ID.

We were fcuking awful throughout the game, as were they, but they somehow managed to score. Dowie was manager.. nuff said.

It p1ssed down with rain on the way back to the car and I got soaked to the skin and then had to drive home to Bristol for 2 hours in wet clothes.

Bad night.

Season 76/77, 0-0 v Northampton town at Home.

They were so bad it was untrue and we came and played to their level.

Their keeper got booked for time wasting just after the 2nd half started!

It was so bad that Peter Wall wrote about them as our worst opposition that year in Shoot magazine and I reminded him of this when he was the taxi driver who picked me up from the Palace Tavern in Bromley 17 years later (about 17 years ago) and I tried to get him to come and play for Carshalton (Beddington Park) probably because I was totally wasted (again).
