Well at least I'm getting reactionsof one way or another. Sorry for making you cry
It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |

Mine would have to be the Burnley game........stitching up the weed for the championship..........but can anyone remember a pre-season match against chelski in the early 80's at selhurst.........5-0 to us and we had used our sub and then took off V.Hilaire to give him a rest and only played with ten men and they still couldnt score..........I remeber ripping the shyte out of a chelski fan at school a few wees later..............oh how things would have been different if we had fullfilled our dreams of being..........THE TEAM OF THE 80'S.

Must be something about the Wolves. This one goes back a LONG way. 1967 (I think) last game of the season home to Wolves who were full of stars and only needed a draw to win the 2nd Div title. Ground full of Wolves to celebrate their championship and Palace play them off the park and win 4-1 so Cov win the title. Two great goals as well from players to make you say "who?". Barry Dyson running in at full tilt to rocket in a header and Jack Bannister a (very) defensive wing half who never scored - except that day he hit a screamer from outside the box. Oh the joy to a young lad in his first season supporting Palace of all those Pi**ed off Wolves fans
I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals. |

For me still the 4-3 semi. I got back to my Mum's and she'd taped it so we watched it again shaking our heads in disbelief. Burnley was great but I can't remember any of the game and only Walsh's goal. The 3-0 against Blackburn must run a close second after being 3-1 down from the 1st leg. Eddie's lunge into the box and Dave 'The Mod' Madden (I bloody loved him) firing home the penalty. Also some steward containing the Holmesdale and walking across the goal-line before Wrighty ran down the other end to score (and me being s*** scared it was gonna be abandoned cos everyone was on the pitch). Ahhhhh!!

Did the game just finish after the pitch invasion or did everybody get back in their seats??? (I was only 8 years old and don't know)

Everyone got off pretty quick - a lot of people genuinely thought the whistle had gone. I've got a really grainy vidoe of that game - must dig it out again. Oh and what a save from Perry to tip Simon Garner's shot over the bar - great day out!! sob sob.......

I've only ever seen the goals on my Do The Wright Thing vid. I've also still got the Liverpool 4-3 on video somewhere that I recorded off BBC whilst I was there. Dad and I got back from Villa Park, put the video on and watched the whole game over again. We even saw me upset when I fell off my chair as Beardsley took a throw Edited by jcreedy (05 Sep 2003 2:24pm)

Right - haven't posted on this topic..... 29th May 2004 - Playoff Final, Crystal Palace 1-0 West Ham......ahhhhhh the memories. Best day ever for me as a Palace fan - the turnaround was superb - from relegation candidates to promotion dark horses to the Premiership in 5 months! Fantastic
