Somewhere between 1989 and 1992. My first match was in 1992. Can't for the life of me remember who it was against, but we hit the bar in the first half - and knocked 2 in the second half. Great memories! Never looked back.....super CPFC

First game was v Southampton, March 1970, won 2-0. Started supporting them the previous September, through a mate at school.Having a non sporting Father,it took me a few months to get to my first game. Went with another mate, both aged 11, via 3 buses from Hayes. How many parents would let two lads do that alone nowadays?

March 1985, lost 1-0 to Shrewsbury. They scored in the Whitehorse Lane end at the beginning of the second half. I cheered. Had no idea about swapping ends at half time. I soon did.
Optimistic as ever |

1963 v carlisle won 3.0 remember being quite overwhelmed at actually being at selhurst and seeing all the players i had only read about, was quite chuffed when reading the match report and thinking i was there, still actually get a buzz when emerging from the entrance and getting the initial glimpse of the pitch, what a sad old sod eh !!!!!

1968, my Dad took me to see us beat Hull City 2-0. Supporting palace was a family tradition. My grandad was a copper back in the early 1920's and used to be on duty at matches. The story goes that Palace always used to lose when he was on duty and his friends got him to change shifts!!

My Dad took me to Selhurst Park for the first time on Christmas Day 1945.The Second World War had ended a few months before which had caused the various leagues to be reorganised on a regional basis so as to reduce travelling time to matches. Palace was in rhe Southern League which included most of the southern teams from the second and third divisions. On that particular morning, they kicked off at 11.00am.Palace had a lot of guest players still playing for them as part of the wartime arrangements whereby players could play for any club near to their base camp. We had Jackie Stamps playing for us who later played for England and Derby County and Dick Graham who had played for Leicester City signed on for us that morning and played for us in goal for several years and eventually became manager at the Palace. On that morning we beat Aldershot 6 - 0 and I was hooked for the rest of my life. I have seen all the ups and downs at Selhurst for 65 years and my saddest moment was a few months ago when I thought Palace was going into extinction, thank God Steve Parrish came along just in time. So now I believe anything can happen at Selhurst Park and don't panic yet about our current position in the table.
