Nice comments with that tweet. Shame I thought you had more class than that. People say 'lefties' have disdain for the working class.

And how on earth does some drone managing a Twitter feed encourage people to keep well? Would people stop looking before crossing the road or start playing around on railway lines or be dining on lard sandwiches every day if it wasn't for this apparently essential 'service'? I'm intrigued to know what my choice of words reveals, as I am to know how calling out what is a misuse of resources is a 'cheap shot'. Good afternoon, I hope you slept well. First, to put into context whether the NHS is inefficient. The US constitutes more than half of the world's healthcare spend. Cost per head of population in 2015 US$9,451. The UK cost per head is US$4,003. Germany is US$5,267. Next, why do I say Service User. The whole concept behind reducing the rate of illness and cost of looking after sick people is to prevent it starting and then control it escalating. Encouraging people to give up smoking, check for common cancers, keep to a sensible weight and diet and avoid excessive drink or recreational drugs can make a massive difference. Finland has had huge success by convincing its population to eat more forest fruits for example. I see no contradiction in hiring someone to communicate to all of the population, especially the hard to reach, that they should look after themselves and go to the Doctor early when they have some kind of issue. This is also required by regulation. One webmaster per 5 CCGs? Croydon CCG looks after around 400,000 so this person will be trying to communicate to up to 2million people. Using that interweb thingy that the young people seem to like. This kind of communication is trying to get to people BEFORE they become patients. Call them customers or clients if you like, it's all the same to me. As I said before, better not to simply take a negative view on everything before you understand the logic. Edited by Mapletree (03 Jun 2017 12.56pm) Thank you, I did. But all of this is achieved through the GP system. I'm forever getting texts from mine, asking me to come in for this check and that check, flu jabs etc. Why introduce an additional layer of bureaucracy to restate a message that's already being given out through GP surgeries (and through numerous poster campaigns)? The sort of people this role has been created for (who clearly have internet access) are hardly likely to be people who follow the NHS on Twitter just so they can be kept up to date, are they? The education is out there already and this role adds nothing to that effort. I attach another absurd (and well paid) job advert for your comment. Attachment: IMG_20170602_173119.jpg (49.10Kb)

Edited by Mapletree (03 Jun 2017 12.56pm) Surely if this being the case. Why don't they just make it law that people who use the NHS have a compulsory annual health check?
