The evidence for the lack of action by management over Savile is in the links that you provided.

Evidence for my contention that the BBC is the envy of the world, sufficient to satisfy me if no one else, is found in my own experiences when travelling.

Finding evidence to satisfy you isn’t so easy as, so far as I know, no one does world surveys. There’s more available about attitudes in the USA than elsewhere. You may find these useful:-

You might also enjoy this which, though not directly related to the BBC’s international reach and trustworthiness, nevertheless expresses my own sentiments.

I don’t read anything in any of them which suggests that trust in the BBC internationally has declined because it is seen in the way you assert. There is no evidence at all that it is seen that way.

Come on seriously, your Tim Davie CBE, admit it

The 2011 Ofcom survey relied upon by WE to support his opinion ( opinions can't be proven as at that point they become fact but let's not be pedantic on poor use of English ) asked less than 1000 people who claimed to have an interest in the news, so it was limited to a narrow questioning based on news coverage only.

A poll in 2022 by a national newspaper asked nearly 7000 of it's readers if the BBC was fit for purpose or should it be defunded.

Over 95% thought the BBC was not fit for purpose and wanted it defunded from the the public purse.

Ok I'll bite. Which national newspaper?

You'll forgive me if your experiences of talking to some people don't constitute incontrovertible proof as much as confirmation bias.
As previously pointed out the links provided show that the BBC knew about Savile and Co.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

That's not evidence, that's self serving drivel, never change

Frankly I don't care what the rest of the world thinks about the BBC and the UK. Why am I shelling out £150pa just so I can feel good that hopefully the rest of the world like us (mainly they don't).

Not paying for the BBC licence and and not watching live TV has felt like a minor conservative win.....far more than the Conservatives have given us their base once they were given an 80 seat majority.

Obviously if someone is a social liberal then the BBC represents good value for money.....if you are anything else it's almost an insult.

Apologies Eagleman but I confused this post with the anniversary talk. We're not American so, "Thank you for your service" sounds naff but nevertheless the sentiment holds.
