Patrick Vieira has been an ITV pundit for the Euros, which makes the plane to France story seem a load of ballacks.

SP could presumably meet him in London

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I had put £50 on Favre & Lampard.

Oh what a terrible shame. So you and whoever is "passing you info" are just as clueless as the rest of us after all eh ?

This whole manager recruitment has seen more twists and turns than the Monaco Formula 1 street circuit with Steve Parish having a brow corrugated with worries on occasions and tearing chunks out of his shampoo-advert mane.

This. With giant knobs on.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Did he do well there as he inherited Favres team?
Genuine question and I don’t know the answer, but when he started to deal in the window and create his own team didn’t he get the sack?

good point, don't know details of second season, but it may be one less straw to clutch sadly. He's a natural leader, he's not stupid, and he's learnt from the very best - similar grounding to Arteta, hopefully will be around that standard. And he won't have to be too proactive with recruitment - what type of player we need and where they play is not a mystery, and viable candidates will have been gone through, and he does know a thing or two about midfield play, which is where we really need to strengthen.

I would actually be fairly happy with Viera. Reading about how he likes his teams to play I think he could fit in well. He would also demand the respect of the changing room and should have contacts in France and England to get us some talent. This is more appealing to me than Cooper or Lampard, if maybe not as exciting as Nuno or Favre.

Absolutely, instant respect from all the players, likes 4-3-3 suits us, better than I thought we would get, good contacts I'm sure, good decision for me (if it happens)

So Vieira in...

My thoughts (and worth fu*k all).

I'm looking at it in 2 ways.

1. Klopp & Mourinho had to start somewhere. Now we know that being a good or in Vieira's case a great player, doesn't mean you are going to be a good manager (Otherwise it would be Tony Adams or Shearer leading England out tonight and not there team mate from 96).

We can only hope that Vieira has learned lessons from his first few jobs and its been a good learning curve. Now he is back in the Premier league with his knowledge of the league and his contacts he gets us inspired and firing along with moving us forwards at a club.
Thats all we can ask at this stage. The whole manager search has been a joke and as I said in a previous post the main priority was a manager that actually wanted the job to start with.

2. Watching ITV last night, Keane, Vieira and Neville... they all have one thing in common... great pundits but are all there because its not worked out as managers. I was having a chat with a pal last night and I was saying I love Roy Keane and would love him as a manager but unfortunately for him he is from a time long gone and I just can't see him ever working with todays woke/Nancy players that have to be cuddled and have there way every 2 minutes.

I hope my first thoughts are what we get and that we have a great season next year with better football than we have had the last couple of seasons. As somebody on here said, lets hope Vieira sorts out Luka as I think there is a good player in there that has lost his way.
I also think Vieira might be able to get Zaha to not only stay but actually look like he wants to be there again which would be like making a massive signing... hey I can dream.

Reckon Parish saw him on ITV, and how clearly cut up he was, then thought 'Right, here's a bloke that clearly not thinking clearly, he might actually sign if I get in now!"

"It was a Team effort, I guess it took all players working together to lose this one"
