It's this kind of attitude which will ensure that the numbers of those paying the licence fee will diminish drastically. Shame, The BBC have had their chances, yet are as entrenched as ever. The BBC is a bit like watching the decline of an actor/actress until they end up on Last of the Summer Wine. Their remaining years on this earth to be counted on their fingers.

That isn’t strictly correct wissie. Some people have no TV or radio. Only books and newspapers. Some don’t want to know the in and outs of BLM and Jordan. Those who don’t use the BBC still benefit from it. They aren’t just another media outlet to be compared to ITV, Sky or even Netflix. They are the BBC, our national broadcaster.

HOW? By being threatened with legal action when you don't want to pay an unwarranted tax. And by being told that your views on things are outdated and, frankly, wrong.

No. If the numbers paying continue to fall then a new, universal, funding model will be found. One that cannot be avoided. Almost everyone pays taxes to pay for universally beneficial services. The BBC is no different. The right will hate it. I won’t.

It’s not me that says it though is it? It’s the report that says it. Despite the persistent claims to the contrary. Those claiming later to have known must have those claims treated with caution. All that is relevant is whether anyone reported suspicions to management at the time, whether employees, parents or the abused. It appears that this didn’t happen in any way to cause any kind of investigation to be undertaken. That this now seems both incredible and unacceptable is true and the strongest of reasons for the procedures to be improved. You think Teddy’s head hurts? Imagine mine with the level of obdurate misunderstanding of the actual facts involved. The persistent repetition of lies often results in people thinking them to be true. Certain tabloids do this all the time and I suspect it’s in play here. It's certainly true of many of your posts.

No, it will be bundled with something you cannot do without. The most obvious being the charge for broadband. It would no longer be directly associated with the BBC and described as an electronic media levy, or similar although the bulk of it would end up funding the BBC. Probably introduced in stages, with the licence fee gradually reduced to zero. Just a suggestion!
