This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Amazing as Arsenal were supposed to be short of money. I just took a gander at an Arsenal forum and a lot of their fans are now suggesting Zaha is crying for not putting in a transfer request, and that Pepe is the better option anyway. How quickly their stupid fans change their opinions on players.

Strange isn't it that there is no talk of a lack of money to complete this transfer even though it is for the same money we would be looking for for Zaha! So if they are willing to pay £75m for Pepe, £25m/£30m for Tierney and also have bought two other players then they have done remarkably well out of a total budget of £40m. I want their accountant. Maybe not all up front?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If they do sign Pepe for £70m,it just confirms what a despicable bunch they are, pleading poverty, restricted to a £40 m transfer budget and trying to secure our prized asset on the cheap, offering to throw their deadwood as makeweights to complete a deal.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If he’s not going.. will be interesting to see what Wilf will be like now that his dream move could be off. He clearly wants out so will we be left with a disappointed sulky Wilf? I would hope not but Wilf is clearly an emotional guy

I dont understand why Parrish doesn't issue a statement - "Please do not offer us your s*** players who cant get a game for you and you want to offload in part exchange for our best player. Its embarrassing for both clubs" Edited by kevlee (27 Jul 2019 7.48am) Because these are the level of players we’re buying at the moment?

Not entirely Teddy. With a decent striker for the whole of last season we could easily have. Why the hell we don't just say Wilf is under contract and not going anywhere is beyond me. Parish should dip into his deep pockets filled with the AWB, Prem and TV millions and gets some decent players in eg.Morelos, St.Max, James etc. who all look a decent punt and not ones no one else wants or the cheap leftovers. We could have a decent shout at Europa place and Wilf would get his wish, No fcuking ambition Palace! Alternatively, I would be happy with 50m plus Iwobi and Nketiah from the Arse or no deal end of (plus a RB) Just my opinion of course ...i'll get me coat! You’ve conveniently forgotten the club’s money woes and the shareholders not willing to invest and are in fact owed money. Can’t remember the amount but it may be up to £30 mil.

I really can’t say I enjoy these start of the season transfer windows, while every other club are building for the new season, we seem to be looking in the lower basement areas for end of line sales. It would be typical Palace to sell Wilf with 12 hours left ( and I’m being generous with the hours ) of the transfer window and then rush around like contestants on supermarket sweep finding a replacement. We just don’t seem to learn, everything seems to be last minute.com. Edited by manwitheagletattoo (27 Jul 2019 10.14am) Prem points are too precious to have a youngster as a third keeper after one is injured and maybe the 2nd is sent off or injured on the day. All clubs have 3.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Pepe is a very good player, but I imagine the only reason they might be going for him is the fact Lille might be willing to accept instalments (which if believed is a feature of Arsenal's moves this window). The one big thing I think Wilf would have over Pepe is his sheer power. This last two years he has become really strong and when he wants to he can brush past defenders. Furthermore, he has proven he can take on the best PL defences. Pepe, to my mind, is somewhat of an expensive risk and might struggle against more physical defenders.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Well....... Wilf is supposed to be back in time for the Hertha Berlin game next week. So I guess the week ahead is a massive one for whether he stays or goes. One encouraging point to be taken perhaps from his instagram account is that he still posts pictures of himself on holiday. Would you be on holiday if you were trying to force through the biggest move of your career? All speculation I know but I suppose by the end of next week we will know if he is training or playing with us or whether he shows some real determination (not paper talk) to leave.
