Try this one for starters.

I get it the beds were too high so they had to be lowered.

The Marshall plan was pan European, mainly used to keep European countries under American not Soviet influence.

You are arguing that there were too many beds under the Tories so Labour had to reduce them?

Cucking was right.

And to rebuild economies to give the Americans someone to trade with. Whatever the reasons, Europe would have been f*cked without it. Clever Americans.

Irony alert: Andrew Lansley, the shadow health secretary, said the Government's financial mismanagement had forced hospitals to make cuts which could risk lives. "These bed cuts were financially driven: the sharp rise in the numbers closed happened at a time when the health service was under desperate pressure to clear a massive deficit."

NHS deficits are at record levels now having been cut to the bone since 2010.

What this article doesn't address is what impact this actually had on health outcomes.

What's certainly the case now is that the NHS needs significant investment. We have far lower doctor ratios than most other OECD countries, declining nurse numbers and more and more demand. The % of GDP spent on health is also very low in international terms. If you were to fall ill you'd be well advised to hop on the Eurostar to Paris where you will received much better healthcare (I speak from personal experience). France has more doctors, more nurses and more investment.

In case of confusion there were 2 the North America loan and later the Marshall plan.

Gordon Brown paid it up in 2006.

Labour chancellors try to repay debt as we know

And that is ironic since Labour are largely responsible for the mess it is in now.

All in this book. Most problems have been over exacerbated by the Tories, many Tory MPs have vested interests in Private heathcare.

What I don't understand is you talk about what labour did, then how Corbyn more often than not voted against the party whip yet use what labour have done to whip Corbyn with when he was more likely voting against it!

You can't have it both ways.

Also. Lots of name calling on here by various tossers. Is it necessary?

No the nurses were finding it too difficult to get capitalist fatties into bed so the beds had to be lowered to make it easier.

In this instance, yes. Absolutely. I've not called you any names other than 'gusset', gusset. And even then, that was only when I was cross with you. I actually believe that you are an integral part of this site. A challenging opponent.

In terms of pure data public spending on health the facts are:

1997: 4.73% of GDP
2009: 7.77% of GDP (peak - 2010 was 7.70%)
2015 (latest year available): 7.62% of GDP

Make of that what you will. Pure data though can be misleading.

Also number of doctors per 1000 population:

1997: 1.85
2009: 2.65
2015: 2.80

Nurses per 1000:

2000 (earliest available): 9.01
2009: 9.75
2014 (latest available): 8.19

The ire hasn't really been aimed at me today, just scanning through what I've missed and seen lots of f***ing idiot type responses.
