What more annoying that someone who claims there in the know. Fans who purchase half and half scarves. You don't own one of these aswell. Half Brighton/half Palace. I've never come out and stated that I am ITK.As if being ITK gives one 'Apotheosis' status on HOL or any such sites.

I have a journalist acquaintance (National paper) who went out to Krakow yesterday and was at the England U21 game today. He contacted me earlier this evening from Poland regarding the timescale for an announcement - having been under the impression that it was to be this week and mentioning it on HOL, I think I will refrain to divulge our conversation as matters can be delayed as I found out ! Why mention any of this unless you are desperately seeking another Willo thread. To be honest I think this post is hogwash and full of bull****

I've been digging for info. To be fair my sources get quite a few right but a lot wrong too. One was adamant Silva was coming but heard that from people not connected to Palace. Contact, he reckons, was made but minds were pretty much made up and Palace weren't exactly gagging for his services. Put it this way, had Silva been available we'd still be interviewing for a manager and he'd be waiting to know if he had been successful. Anyway, long story short, Palace have been busy but very coy over this. Likelihood is it won't be Dyche as there have been zero leaks from Burnley as they'd have wanted to force his hand if so (this is an agreed hypothesis from me and my mate, not a certainty). Therefore, my guess is DeBoer or Pellegrino. What two of my mates (one journo, one close to club) have said is that Southampton vacancy could potentially throw a spanner in the works BUT not to underestimate the pull of London and the fact that our owners, particularly the Americans, are loaded.

He certainly DOES exist. Edited by Willo (17 Jun 2017 8.16am) Have I got this right? An acquaintance of yours, not a friend, who is a journalist covering the U21 tournament takes time away from covering the football, to ask you when an announcement on the new Palace manager will be made. Do you live in some little fantasy world?

Do you live in some little fantasy world? Er NO - I live in the 'Real world' although you will clearly deny this. He was on his way to the airport for his Krakow flight when we were in communication. He hadn't reached Poland at that stage.Nothing unusual for us to have a chit-chat now and then around his busy work schedules. Nothing more to add to this. Will NOT respond to any such line of questioning as I can see a WILLO thread developing and we have had enough of those to last a lifetime.

I wouldn't be so sure we are "loaded", although it might be fair to say financially secure, but prudent. There have been plenty of signals that the expenditure in the last transfer window was a one-off and that it was breaking the piggy bank rather than a change in player recruitment policy, and that this time we would be more parsimonious. So I wouldn't be optimistic that a manager who wanted to spend big would get much change out of the Board just now. However I also don't think we'll be choosing X over Y just because Y wants an extra £1m or whatever.

I have NO idea as to the proposed budget for players this coming season, but I am very much in line with your way of thinking regards the scale of financial support and your general sentiments.Just a feeling, nothing else at this stage.

You certainly have, a positive almanac of non-information. Well done. Some would argue that "Non-Information" is far more preferable than "Dis-Information".Thankfully I don't veer down either route. Now let's get back to the subject matter rather than get involved in pointless contretemps which de-rail this thread.
