This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If Wilf is to go this summer then we need to get our own replacement targets in first for e.g Saint-Maximin and Morelos I'm speculating on names. What we cannot do is wait until after the transfer when every winger/attacker will suddenly be twice the value. And what we absolutely must not do is accept other teams deadwood (Tosun, McCarthy, Jenkinson etc) to help them match our valuation. Tbf to the board they've given no indication of doing this. The one team who could have players of gengenuine interest to us are Chelsea - Reece James and Bats but they have a transfer ban and both players mentioned are probably unlikely to join for varying reasons. Which takes me back to the original point we must identify and secure our own targets first (which I'll admit doesn't look overly likely or maybe the dealings are being done so covertly that even twitter can't get a sniff - we live in hope). If any mileage in this rumour Chelsea ain't gonna give us Bats for 20m & 60m cash with a free seasons loan for Wilf, they'll be after better than that It is possible I would have thought to agree a precontract agreement with chelsea for Zaha. He joins next summer, We get Bats for £20 million (assuming 3 year deal) first 2 installments out of agreed Zaha fee next summer. We also get startlet on loan with an agreed right to buy at end of loan. A joint insurance policy would need to be on Zaha in case of career ending injury

What would we owe Man United if we received no money for Zaha but instead a number of players, or £40M plus £40M worth of players? I read it that when negotiating the AWB transfer it was negotiated to 15 percent wit a cap of 15mill.
oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle The cash proportion is going to be diminished by the sell-on whoever the buyer is. Doesn't make any difference. Other clubs aren't going to pay more to compensate us for it. We can only ask them to pay the market rate (which at the moment they are not). If they do, then we just have swallow the sell-on fee. That was part of the deal to get back Wilf on the cheap. In hindsight, it looks bad but at the time it was a good deal. If we accepted Everton's reported offer and agreed to the transfer of the players mentioned, after paying Man Utd we would receive some £45 Million, plus Tosun and McArthy.I am not too sure many supporters would be that enamoured with the deal.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Without knowing the exact wording of the clause its hard to say but my guess would be both clubs would need to agree a valuation on any players involved in a swap so the % could be calculated. I assume that if both clubs could not agree it would go to a tribunal to decide a fair value. I still think we would need to pay the % though. What would we owe Man United if we received no money for Zaha but instead a number of players, or £40M plus £40M worth of players?
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

Unless inclusive of a player or players that are actually of our choice all these offers are no more than an insult, they take our top guy whilst donating their deadwood to soften the financial blow. If Wilf's off it has to be for the full amount & we'll find our own players, ones that we deem useful. Both Jenkinson & Tosun have knocked us back in the past Agree with your sentiments but we seem to struggle on this point

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle His camp are leaking to the press that he is "warming" to a move to Everton. Let's face it -- he wants out to any club that he perceives will give him a better chance of competing at the upper end of the table. He may well see Everton as a stepping stone. Personally, I couldn't care less what his ambition is. I'd like him to stay but, if he's not 100 percent focused and motivated to be a Palace player, I'd prefer we sell at the market rate. If Everton offer that, I certainly think he would go there. Originally posted by Jacey

Eaglecoops I have become used to being chastised on HOL ! No hard feelings at all. You might get your relegation prediction right this season with your 7th attempt, or your 8th or 9th or 10th right the seasons after this coming 7th season .

As far as im aware its 15% of any cash sale. So in theory if we took players in exchange up to the value of Zaha Man u would get nothing. If ture almost worth doing. Back to Everton one player not mention id have in px who does not play reg for them is Theo Walcott. Hes always wanted a cetral role and we could offer him that plus reguler football. Edited by wainesworld (26 Jul 2019 6.37pm) Walcott can’t run the ball out for goal kicks attacking away from the wing in the centre.
