Right of Tony Blair mmmm........ Ghengis Khan, Mrs. Thatcher any others you can think of I'm out. Originally posted by Rudi Hedman
I meant that the bbs is likely to have a dedicated thread to criticising the Tories (every thread probably) and we don’t have one. Posts are monitored closer though, but we’re all aware and do receive verbal warnings so that’s the rules. Actually you can be extremely personal on the bbs unless you’re right of Tony Blair and in that case you may as well go out in a blaze of glory.

God forbid anyone to the right of Mrs. Thatcher ever had the opportunity to put opinions on a private site.

Thought people might be interested, in Lanzarote where I live we are down to 23 cases in hospital, 16 in wards, 8 in ICU, the most if got to was 76, and only 3 people have died, the lookdown is very severe no walking, no two people together going for shopping. cant see any tourism on the island until late in the year or next year, terrible for bar and restaurant owners. My annual Easter sojourn in Playa Blanca was cancelled so I've rebooked for the first couple of weeks in October and hope that your view is pessimistic

By the way, for those who might think my previous post was a self reference, it wasn't. It was a free speech point.

Interesting to see what develops in Japan. I first heard about the rise in cases on the BBC this weekend so I was sceptical. But it seems the situation in Japan is becoming a problem for Japan’s hospitals and there are reports of Covid patients in ambulances being turned away. It’s too early to see what’s fully happening yet and as has been discussed, a full analysis can’t be made until much later after the pandemic is over or done most of its worst, but it looks like Covid could be on the attack again there so we’ll see what develops and what Japan does. Some of its critics think Japan can’t adapt after appearing successful to begin with. In the meantime we’re all waiting for Germany’s lead and hopefully avoiding the situation in Spain and Italy, but have we?

That said most countries will suffer the same situation eventually. Kicking the can down the road

Remarkedly, given it's source, it isn't. It obviously depends on the availability of an effective vaccine. If that takes 18 months then that's how long the vulnerable and elderly will have to remain protected. What people of my age group are now experiencing is the new normal, until this beast is defeated. For others the brakes will be gradually released but life won't be back to the old normal until everyone has been vaccinated or a reliable drug treatment has been found. Football, and all other sports, behind closed doors is going to be our best hope of entertainment for the coming months.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
