cant understand liverpools stance The guy hasnt set the prem on fire on merseyside and cant see many in queue to pay 30M. there must be a striker out there to offer better value than him ahh if we only had a scouting policy of any use these days. For the moment We need to change formation to give support to wickham as a 4 4 2 (gayle sadly comes to mind.could be the time to give Kaikai a try as he knows where the net is albeit at a lower level

Why don't we just offer 30m up front flat offer. We erode our bargaining position by dicking about like this. We may have got him cheaper a few weeks back but as we approach the deadline I wouldn't be surprised if we get gazumped by another club. Silly tactics to play with absurd transfer fees currently being sought and paid all over the PL. Could be a hard lesson coming up for Mr Parish and co.

Well then in that case this should all have been done pre season not one game in to the start of the season and STILL no striker and in all likley hood we will play spurs away with no Yannick and no Striker other than Wickham. Pathetic management however you dress it up. Quite agree. This is all too similar to Jordan.

Absolutely absurd from the club if the reports are to be believed. Who in their right mind would have sat down and devised those ridiculous "add-ons" and thought Liverpool would bite our hands off. I put more thought into the offer I made on my house. And it's taken SP six weeks to come up with this masterplan! Rank amateurs...

NO NO NO NO! This doesn't make any sense to the many experts on here and so no. You're wrong. Lets just get on with it. Hand over all the cash. Coz that's how you do business innit... Originally posted by Palace in the Blood
Add on clauses and payment schedules in transfers are quite normal. The Bolasie one is £25 million plus addons which could lead to a total value of £30 million. Common clauses relate to number of games played in a period, league you are end up in with that player, Position you end up in, International recognition if they are not all ready internationals etc. What seems strange in this clause is that it is 3 pronged. The reports are we offered £23 million plus add ons that take it to £30.5 million. We also wanted 4 years to pay in total. Firstly We do not know how much Liverpool owe Villa and how much of £32.5 million was addons . Their purchase may state payment is due in full if he is sold on. Thats easy if Jedi is moving to Villa as they will be likely to accept a relaxation of clause. It is likely that Benteke will want a relegation clause and I don't think that is unreasonable. The £23 million may be the value he wants that clause at. We will therefore want a clause in transfer contract in the add-ons protecting club. So to me Add-on Clauses based on following are not unreasonable:- With our slump in 2016 Europe may seem along way but at xmas we were in with a good chance of a Europa Place so therefor a clause about Europe is not so stupid. A bit of the stand off as well is Liverpool playing for time to see if better offers come in. I think the final figure Benteke will go for is £25 million plus add-on which may take possible total to £32.5 million. Appearance Less than 20 games £0 20-25 games £300K 25+ £750K paid each year over contract Goals Similar Less than 10 goals, 10-15 ,15+ £1 million if we play in Europe during his contract A relegation Clause in year 1 which shared any loss on subsequent sale with Liverpool

How has the minutiae of these £7 million add ons been leaked to the press ? Certainly not from our end. They look a bit excessive as well, in comparison to the full amount, being 23%. In the last few years this site has become numpty heaven. It seems particularly bad over the summer. There are obvious reasons for this. Trouble is, many of the sillier angry posts are coming from those who have been posting on here for many years. The knee keeps jerking. We don't have a brand new state of the art stadium. JERK. SP is pocketing all the profits. We haven't bought the entire Real Madrid playing staff. JERK. Our entire management is incompetent. We dared to stick an entirely normal add on clause on a deal that the Echo scoffed at. JERK. We are a laughing stock in the football world. We lose our first home game albeit with only half the first team. JERK. Slaughter the first born!
